The Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) conducts a state-level recruitment process for the post of Assistant Engineer to fill in the vacancies for the post throughout the state of Karnataka. How to Fill the KPSC AE Application Form 2022?
The steps to fill the KPSC AE Application Form 2022 are as follows:
- Step 1: Visit the official website of KPSC. (http://www.kpsc.kar.nic.in)
- Step 2: Click on the link for KPSC AE Recruitment 2022.
- Step 3: Register for the exam by entering the details required.
- Step 4: On successful registration, the registration number and password will be sent to the registered mail of the candidate.
- Step 5: Login and Click on the ‘Apply Online’ link and enter all the necessary information.
- Step 6: Once the details are entered, cross-check the details and upload the necessary documents including the photograph and signature of the candidate.
- Step 7: Pay the prescribed application fees via any online payment mode. Click on Submit.
- Step 8: Take a printout of the filled application form for future references.

The KPSC AE is laid down by the commission separately for both papers. The KPSC Paper 1 is a general paper and includes a variety of topics from various disciplines. However, the KPSC Paper 2 is specific to the subject as per the educational qualification of the candidate and involves technical sub-disciplines.

Eligibility Criteria

KPSC AE Eligibility: Educational Qualification
The candidates must have the prescribed educational qualification in order to apply for the KPSC AE Recruitment 2022.
The candidate must have a degree (B.E./ B. Tech) in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a university recognized by the AICTE. The degrees that will be considered as equivalent to the above mentioned educational qualification are:

- Civil Technology

- Construction Engineering and Management
- Geo-Mechanics and Structures

- Diploma granted by the Institution of Engineer (India), which certifies that the candidate has passed Parts A & B of the Associate Membership Examination of the Institution of Engineers (India) in Civil Engineering or Construction Technology and Management Engineering
KPSC AE Eligibility: Ineligibility Criteria
The candidates will be considered ineligible in the following cases:
- Male candidates involved in practicing polygamy.
- Female candidates on account of marrying an already married male will be ineligible.
- Any physical/mental disability of a candidate that may obstruct the official performance of responsible duties is not considered to be eligible.
Application Fee
After filling the KPSC AE application form, the candidate needs to pay the application fees online. The application fee for candidates from different categories varies. An amount of INR 35 is charged ass processing fees from all the candidates irrespective of their category. The KPSC AE application fees are as follows:

Exam Pattern
The KPSC AE selection process involves two stages mainly- Written Exam and Interview. The candidates who will qualify for the KPSC AE Written Exam will be eligible to appear for the Interview.
The KPSC AE written exam will consist of two papers- General Paper and Specific Paper. The KPSC AE Exam will be objective-type in nature. Each question carries one mark with a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer. The medium of the KPSC AE Exam will be bilingual, i.e. both in Kannada and English languages.
