Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the SSC JHT (Junior Hindi Translator) for the recruitment of candidates for the post of Junior Hindi Translators or Junior Translators in different departments and ministries under the Government of India. The SSC JHT Recruitment is carried out for various posts such as Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator, and Hindi Pradhyapak.

Latest Notification

SSC JHT Recruitment 2022 official notification is yet to be released. SSC will release the official notification for the post of Junior Hindi Translator on its official website. SSC releases the JHT notification combined with the notification of Junior Translator and Senior Hindi Translator.

Registration

How to Fill the SSC JHT Application Form 2022?

The steps to apply for SSC JHTexam are given below:

Step 1: Go to the official website of SSC.
Step 2: Then in the login section click on ‘Register Now'.
Step 3: Then fill in your basic details, additional details, and contact details as required in the registration form.
Step 4: Then upload the scanned image of your passport size photograph and signature.
Step 5: And submit the registration form and keep the registration number and password for the application process.
Step 6: Login again with your registration number and password.
Step 7: Then under the ‘Latest Notification’ tab find the link for ‘Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translator and Senior Hindi Translator Examination 2022’ and click on ‘Apply’.
Step 8: Some of the candidates’ details will be already filled in in the application form as per the registration form. Candidates then have to give their centre preference and fill in the remaining details educational, highest qualification, etc.
Step 9: Preview and verify the information in the application form.
Step 10: Pay the application fees.
Step 11: Submit the application and take a printout of the same for future reference.

Documents Required for SSC JHT Application Form

The documents and information required while applying online for SSC JHT Exam are:

Aadhaar Number (or ID Number of Voter ID Card / PAN / Passport / Driving License / School or College ID / Employer ID).
Mobile number and Email ID (to be verified through OTP).
Information about matriculation examination.
Recent passport size colour photograph (less than 3 months old) having the date printed on it on which the photograph was taken.
Scanned photograph.
Disability certificate (only if applicable).

Syllabus

SSC Junior Hindi Translator Syllabus varies for Paper 1 and Paper 2. However, in both the papers, candidates’ knowledge, competence, and grasp of Hindi and English language are tested. SSC JHT Paper 1 and Paper 2 Syllabus are described below:

SSC JHT Paper 1 Syllabus

SSC JHT Paper 1 will have 100 multiple choice questions each on General English and General Hindi.
SSC JHT Paper 1 will test candidates’ understanding of the Hindi and English language and their literature, and correct use of words, phrases, and idioms. The questions will be of degree level.

SSC JHT Paper 2 Syllabus

SSC JHT Paper 2 will test candidates’ translation skills and their ability to write as well as comprehend the two languages correctly, precisely, and effectively. The paper will have 4 descriptive questions:

Hindi to English translation
English to Hindi translation
English essay writing
Hindi essay writing

Eligibility Criteria

SSC JHT Eligibility: Nationality

Candidates applying for SSC Junior Hindi Translator must be:

An Indian citizen, or
A subject of Bhutan, or
A subject of Nepal, or
A Tibetan refugee (came to India before January 01, 1962), or
A person of Indian origin (who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries, Vietnam, etc. with the intention of permanent settlement in India.

A candidate who is not a citizen of India needs to possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India in his favour, otherwise, he/she won’t receive the offer of appointment.

SSC JHT Eligibility: Age Limits

The lower age limit to appear in SSC JHT Exam is 18 years and the upper age limit is 30 years.
Relaxation in the upper age limit can be given in the case of certain categories. The age relaxation for different categories is tabulated below:

SSC JHT Eligibility: Educational Qualifications

The education qualification for Junior Translator in Central Secretariat Official Language Service (CSOLS), Junior Translator in M/o Railways (Railway Board), Junior Translator in Armed Forces Headquarters (AFHQ) & Junior Translator/Junior Hindi Translator in subordinate offices who have adopted Model RRs of DoP&T is tabulated below:

Senior Hindi Translator in various Central Government Ministries/ Departments/Offices	Master’s degree from a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; Or, Master’s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of an examination at the degree level; Or, a Master’s Degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level And, a Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or three years’ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking.
Hindi Pradhyapak in Central Hindi Training Institute (CHTI)	Bachelor’s degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at degree level either as compulsory or optional from a recognized University or Institute plus Master’s degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute plus Bachelor of Education from a recognized University/Institute. Or, a Bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute plus a Master’s degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at the degree level either as compulsory or optional from a recognized University or Institute plus a Bachelor of Education from a recognized University/Institute. Desirable: Two years of experience teaching Hindi at the Senior Secondary level under Central or State Governments or recognized educational Institutions.
