TNEA or Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions is a counselling process conducted by Anna University each year for admissions into the engineering and related technology courses in the state of Tamil Nadu. The process involves five major steps- Registration, Payment of Registration Fee, Choice Filling, Seat Allotment and Confirmation. The admissions into TNEA participating colleges are purely based on Merit List prepared on the basis of Class 12th scores of the registered candidates and no entrance exam is conducted for the same. According to TNEA 2022 Eligibility Criteria, candidates seeking admissions into B.Tech/B.E courses and related technical courses must be a native of Tamil Nadu or have completed his/her Intermediate education in Tamil Nadu. In addition to the domicile criteria, the candidate should score at least 45% (for General category) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in class 12th. Candidates must pay an application fee of INR 500 (General) or INR 250 (Reserved) during their online application.

Candidates must ensure that the email ID and mobile number they are submitting are active till the completion of the counselling process so that the university can notify them of any correction or update.
Since no form correction is allowed after submission, candidates must fill their TNEA 2022 Application Form very carefully

According to the Domicile Criteria for TNEA 2022, the following candidates are eligible to register. The candidate is required to meet any one of the following Domicile Criteria to register for TNEA 2022:

As per the rules for TNEA Reservation Criteria 2022, the selection of the candidate will be based on seven categories. These seven categories are- OC, BC, BCM (BC Muslim), MBC and DNC, SC, SCA and ST reservation.

TNEA 2022 Counselling will be held from September 7 to October 20. The students would be called for counselling rounds on the basis of their ranks, reservation and choices filled in the merit list and allotted colleges as such. A counselling call letter would be released by the authorities after the submission of the counselling fee. During counselling candidates would be allotted seats in TNEA participating colleges in Tamil Nadu. Once a college is allotted, the candidate must report to the college on the specified date and time in the allotment letter.
