Telangana State Teacher Eligibility Test, also known as TSTET is a state-level exam conducted by the Department of School Education, Government of Telangana for shortlisting the meritorious candidates who wish to pursue a career as a teacher under the Government of Telangana.
It is one of the mandatory eligibility criteria for grabbing a Teaching post of Primary and Secondary classes under the State Government. Candidates with a B.Ed. can appear for TSTET in order to get teaching jobs at the primary and secondary levels of schooling.

Telangana State Teacher Eligibility Test examination comprises of two papers, which tests the eligibility of the candidates for applying in the different teaching posts. Candidates clearing only Paper-I are eligible to apply for teaching posts in the primary classes (1 to 5) and those who can clear Paper-II will be eligible for teaching in secondary sections (6 to 8).
The eligibility criteria subjected by the Telangana Government to appear for TSTET Paper-I and Paper-II are given below.
Those candidates appearing for Telangana State Teacher Eligibility Test Paper-II must fulfill the following criteria:
One important point to be noted is that the Degree/ Diploma course of an aspirant in teacher education should be from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). However, for candidates possessing a B.Ed. special education/ diploma in education (special education), the degree should be affiliated by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only.
Primary and Secondary teachers who were appointed by a competent Local Authority/ Government before National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) notification are spared from appearing for Telangana State Teacher Eligibility Test. However, teachers whose appointments were not approved by competent authority to date and those who are employed in private schools are not excused from applying for TET.
The application fee for the TSTET Exam is INR 300. The candidates need to pay the application fees online through any online payment gateway such as Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking.
