Fashion models work in various fields, including photographic modeling, television commercials, live or runway modeling, and product modeling. There are not specified professional degree courses in the field of modeling, besides some short time training or capsule courses offer by the few institutions in India. Various famous fashion models have been established their own institutions or coaching to train the young boy and girls in the field of modeling. In the modeling profession, educational qualifications are insignificant. Only physical characteristics and personal qualities are given more importance. Diploma in Fashion Styling with a duration of one year.
Certificate course in modeling for the duration of 6 months from private institutions

Eligibility

There is no specific educational qualification required to enter this profession. To begin with, one can approach the reputed Modelling agencies with the portfolio of recent photographs or can apply for the contests sponsored by various magazines, cloth manufactures and cosmetic companies, etc.

Just after a 10+2 qualification, one can enter this profession, though it’s suggested to have at least a graduate qualification which assists in handling the nitty-gritty of this profession.

The salary in this field is not fixed. It fluctuates as per the estimation of the show. A low-budget fashion show pays to its model around Rs. 5000 to Rs. 10,000 per show. An established model charges are Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 50,000 per show. The magazines pay 15 – 20 thousand per edition and the ad print pays as per the photograph printed.
