36th National Youth Festival 2023

• The students of Apeejay Stya University (ASU) blazed a trail with their exemplary achievements at the recently concluded 36th National Youth Festival 2023, held from 24 to 28 February 2023 at Jain University, Bengaluru. The dedication, hard work and talent of the students were well reflected in the numerous awards bagged by them in the various event categories. The students competed against 900+ Universities and more than 40,000 Colleges in India.
  The first position in western solo song and light vocal gazal was secured by Nisha Pameh in both categories, under the guidance of Dr Anadi Mishra. In the Classical instrumental solo (Percussion), the first position was bagged by Agam Shingari. The students who won second positions in the classical dance (under the guidance of Dr Micky Verma), elocution and clay modelling events were Jyotika, Ria Sharma and Jaahnvi respectively. While the third position in the western group song (under the guidance of Dr Anadi Mishra) was bagged by Swaralipi Sarkar, Sneha Jajoo, Hiya Bhattacharya, Nisha Pameh, Shivam Chauhan and Gagandeep Singh. The third position in the rangoli competition was secured by Kashvi Goel.

Guest Lecture on ‘Jurisdiction and Powers of Punishment of Criminal Courts’

• The School of Legal studies of Apeejay Stya University, Gurugram, organised a guest lecture on ‘Jurisdiction and Powers of Punishment of Criminal Courts’ on 8 December 2022. The guest speaker was Dr. Teena, Assistant Professor, G.D Goenka University. Dr. Teena discussed the Criminal Procedure Code and functionaries under CrPC and the important sections of The Criminal Procedure Code, 1973.

Guest Lecture: Careers in Law

• The School of Legal studies, Apeejay Stya University, recently organised a guest lecture on different Career paths in the field of Law. The guest speaker who conducted the event was Dr. Anupam Kurwal who is an associate professor at University Institute of Law and Management Studies, MDU. He has authored many books on ADR and motivational & self-help books as well. He is renowned for his workshops on Laws for Principals, Law as a Career and has guided countless people in different fields.
  Dr Kurwal started the session with a brief introduction to the field of law and how the practical world of lawyers and advocates work. Further, he guided the students by telling them different mantras a law student should always follow, such as following a dress code, working on our oration and writing skills. He also emphasised on self-improvement and how the study of law requires constant input and hard work.
  Some distinctive advice was also parted by the guest lecturer as he told the students that they need to be social and interactive in nature in order to succeed in the sphere of law. Dr Kurwal’s words truly motivated the students and gave them the courage to step out in the world and make a place for themselves.
