The PGDM programme approved by AICTE under the banner of DSBS came in to existence in the year 2007. It was conceived with an objective to meet the growing needs of management graduates in the corporate sector of Indian economy. As the programme offered is autonomous, it is aimed to be a flagship and vibrant programme of the institution. Just as the physical environment of the campus has been improved and enriched by the development programme over recent years, the PGDM department’s track record in making higher education accessible to those who have never previously been given the opportunity to study, has also enriched the lives of whole generations of students.
DSBS is situated in the sylvan surroundings of the Garden City of Bangalore. Traditionally, Bangalore has been an important centre of Carnatic culture, now grown into a modern cosmopolitan city. Along with this metamorphosis, the city has emerged as a high-tech centre for manufacturing, services and information technology and has acquired the name of Silicon Valley of India. It is a seat of some of the world class research centres in the frontier areas of science and technology. For this reason, Bangalore is fast becoming a home to major corporations of the world. The City’s growing importance as a future business hub of Asia-Pacific provides an ideal location for a premier B- School.

The College of Journalism and Mass Communication (CJMC), Dayananda Sagar University (DSU), places placements and internships on high priority.
The exposure to industry and real life work through internships provides students not only with a glimpse of what the industry is like but also gives them crucial clues to what they want to do or do not want to do after their degrees. To a great extent, they decide what they want to do and where they want to be placed during their internships. Some of them get job offers at the place of internship.
The work experience they gain is good learning as it helps them become much more confident and they return wiser after internships. The stint in industry also changes their attitude and interest towards academics within the classroom.
The college provides internships to students in their Fourth Semester (Second Year) and helps with placements once their degree is successfully completed.
