GIET University is a private research university located in Gunupur, Odisha, India. Established in 1997, it was formerly known as Gandhi Institute of Engineering and Technology (GIET) and was granted university status in 2017. GIET University Cut Offs
GIET University releases cut off for admission to its undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The cut off marks are the minimum marks that a candidate needs to score in order to be eligible for admission to the program.
The cut off marks for admission are based on various factors such as the number of applicants, the difficulty level of the entrance exam, previous year's cut off, and the availability of seats in the program.
For undergraduate programs such as B.Tech, the cut off is generally in the range of 60-70% for the general category. For postgraduate programs such as MBA and M.Tech, the cut off is generally in the range of 50-60% for the general category.
It is important to note that the cut off marks may vary for different categories such as SC/ST/OBC and PwD candidates.

ACADEMIA-INDUSTRY CONNECT
The last semester B.Tech students of various engineering departments at GIETU are gearing up to finish their engineering degree with industrial and technical visits. One recent visit has been that of our 6th semester B.Tech students from the Agricultural Engineering department made to OMFED Dairy Plant and CAET, OUAT Bhubaneswar.
The Orissa State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation Limited (OMFED) is a Dairy Cooperative Society at the state level, registered under the Cooperative Society Act of 1962. It was created to connect milk farmers in rural areas with ambitious consumers in urban areas. The main activities of OMFED are to promote, produce, procure, process, and market milk and milk products for the economic development of Orissa’s rural agricultural community.
The students had an extremely informative industrial and technical visit. This tactical teaching method will enhance the students’ understanding of the practicalities through interaction, observing working methods and employment practices.

The Training and Placement cell, affectionately was developed with an eye to enable us to see eye to eye with the industry at all times, about all matters – be it regarding turning out industry-ready students with the right blend of academic and personal skills or providing a conduit for placement of students at the end of their sojourn at the Institute or for providing an interface for the ex-students willing to suggest ways and means of adapting the curriculum or the emphasis to the ever-changing requirements of the industry.
The Cell acquittals three fold tasks, to name: Training, Placement & Association with the Alumni. The Alumni are closely associated with the working of the Cell. They regularly visit the university and share their invaluable experience with their juniors. This interaction helps boost confidence amongst the students and develop the right frame of mind to sit for placement interviews.
GIET University, Gunupur donated two water tanks to Balniketan
On the auspicious day of Netaji Jayanti, the Faculty Club, of GIET University, Gunupur donated two water tanks to Balniketan(An orphanage situated outskirts of gunupur) to resolve water scarcity over there.
Balniketan is an NGO/Voluntary Organization and a nonprofit organization that assists Destitute children to have Flawless Education and deliver them Salient requirements in order to erect a healthy nation.
The University handed over the sanitizer dispensers to the Office of Sub Collector
GIET University, Gunupur has long and cherished tradition of commendable initiatives, innovation, institutionalized programmes and practices of Corporate Social Responsibility.
The students of the university had developed low cost sanitizing devices like hand free foot operated hand sanitizer dispensers, Sensor based portable touch free hand sanitizer dispensers & full body sanitizing machine as a part of its efforts to fortify the “Break the Chain campaign” to fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
The University handed over the sanitizer dispensers to the Office of Sub Collector, Rayagada, Odisha for the trial and preparing to deliver more foot operated and automated hand sanitizers for local distributions.
