Jain University is a private university located in Bangalore, India, founded in 1990 as Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College. In 2009, it was declared a deemed university under the UGC Act, and in 2011 it was renamed Jain University.
The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programs in a wide range of fields including engineering, science, commerce, management, humanities, social sciences, law, and design. It has a diverse student community from over 35 countries and offers various international exchange programs.
Jain University has been recognized as a "University of Excellence" by the UGC and has also been awarded the "Graded Autonomy" status by the Ministry of Education. It has collaborations with various international universities and research institutions. The university is also known for its focus on sports, with a well-equipped sports complex and facilities for a variety of sports.

Jain University is ranked in India Today 2021 under Arts, Commerce, Science, Computer Applications, and Mass Communication streams. The University has improved its Mass Communication ranking to 20 out of 47 in India by India Today Rankings 2021.

JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) Faculty of Engineering & Technology’s goal is to initiate research, and creative brainstorming, so that the stock of knowledge can be used to devise new applications. JU-FET is intensely involved in the multifaceted research domains through academic-industry partnerships. Research & Development activities have been going on within different departments in the areas of Design & Manufacturing, Study of Rare Earth Elements, Floor Planning in VLSI, and so on.

Scholarships
JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) offers six categories of scholarships with the objective to encourage extraordinary talent in academics, sports, music, dance and literary categories. Apart from this, the University also admits candidates with visual, auditory and other significant physical disabilities to all the courses.
Scholarship is offered to Indian Nationals and is awarded to students of JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) only.
Scholarships will be reviewed on a regular basis by the JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) Scholarship Committee (JUSC). The committee reserves the right to introduce new scholarships or to cease the award of scholarships at any time.
The eligibility criteria for each scholarship and agreement on the number of scholarships to be awarded annually are approved by JUSC. The committee also approves the selection and renewal process.
Scholarship within each category will be awarded on the basis of merit (subject to the number of scholarships available in each category for that year) and will not by any means be tested or otherwise influenced by any other award / grant etc. held by the scholarship applicant.
Scholarship is not transferable.

Jain University maintains a good placement record. The university has started its 2023 placement drive. Till now, 395 B.Tech students & 5 M.Tech students have already been placed. The placement percentage stood at 53.23% for the B.Tech students & 10.41% for the M.Tech students. The highest salary received was INR 30 LPA which was bagged by B.Tech batch. Average salary stood at INR 5.85 LPA for the M.Tech students & INR 6.92 LPA for the B.Tech students.
During Jain University Placements 2022, 552 B.Tech students, 42 M.Tech students got placed. The highest salary offered was INR 42 LPA. B.Tech students received an average salary of INR 5.12 LPA & M.Tech students received an average salary of INR 4.12 LPA.

The Centre for Exchange at School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) organized a guest lecture on Words of Wisdom on “Relevance of Humanities and Social Sciences to Engagement in Different Sectors on December 9, 2020.
The keynote speaker for the event was Wing Commander M.A Afraz (Retd.), and a founding trustee of Honour Point (NGO). He enlightened the students on how they can make the most of humanities and social science as a profession and the relevance of the topics, concepts, and ideas they learn about society under this school.
Learning the Industry Specific Skills for a Career in Humanities and Social Sciences

An Insight into The National Education Policy
he resource person for the event was Dr. Manasa Naghabhushan. She enlightened the participants on various aspects of the National Education Policy 2020, and the structural changes required for applying of the policy at the institutional level. She highlighted the importance of deciding upon the changes to be brought about at the Institutional level and how the under graduation program under the guidelines of the policy to become a terminal program so that students could shift colleges based on the credits they accumulate in the Academic Bank of Credit.
