The Internship cell of School of Law, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Bangalore is a student cum faculty body formed to facilitate the process of Campus Recruitment, Internships, Training & Development.
The cell holds the objective of bridging the gap between the institute and industry. The main aim of internships is to provide a smooth transition from the academic world to the real work environment. An increasing number of law schools require the completion of an internship as a prerequisite to graduation. As the legal field has become more complex and legal employment opportunities have multiplied exponentially, the definition of a ‘traditional internship’ has evolved greatly. An internship is a learning experience of its own kind. Students gain practical knowledge of a subject by interning with an organization that specializes in that particular area. Practical application of the legal knowledge is what is expected at the professional front. This is exactly what internships teach. Neither is it spoon-fed school learning, nor pressure filled workload. Students not only learn the basics of work life but also the soft skills required for a brighter professional career.
Objectives of an Internship Cell:
1. It helps the students in gaining practical experience in a real work environment
2. It assists the students in being more responsive to market requirements when choosing their area of specialization.
3. It increases the awareness of students about the multitude of career options present in the legal world.
4. It assists the development of professional skills and etiquette in a student.
5. It provides an understanding to the students into the working of an organization and an insight into the different legal processes that take place.
6. It also supplements the knowledge of the students that enhances their participation in their classes.
Activities of the Internship Cell:
1. Summer and Winter Internship Programs

I took a break from my job to pursue PGDM from NMIMS in 2013 and got placed in a pharmaceutical company in 2015.I started as a Management Trainee and in 6 years I am a Senior Manager in an EdTech firm in Business Process domain.
The holistic education + knowledge provided by NMIMS made it easy for me to transcend in management roles within industries. My key skills that were developed at NMIMS were time management, communication skills and business principles/strategy thanks to the faculty members. The time spent there prepared me to tackle business issues from diverse functions in the organization.
To the students who will be taking up the course, my message is these 2 years focus on picking up knowledge from your faculty, batchmates and various guest lectures that are organized by the college. The life at NMIMS will provide you an opportunity to interact with students from different B-Schools through various events organized year around. So just do your thing and enjoy!
