ACADEMIA-INDUSTRY CONNECT

An industrial visit to Ice Plant, Bhagwanpur, Haridwar for B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering students (3rd and 4th year) of RIT, Roorkee held on 23 April, 2022. The students observed and understood various major components of Refrigeration cycle like compressor, expansion, evaporator and condenser. All processes and working procedure was nicely explained by company staff which was knowledge provoking.
An industrial visit to Hydraulic Research Station, Bahadrabad and Cable Stayed Bridge, Haridwar held on 08 April, 2022 for B.Tech Civil Engineering students of RIT, Roorkee. The students experienced the construction, operation and design procedure of the dam, irrigation channels, drinking water project, hydraulic power stations, and waterfalls at the research stations through their working models
The students of B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering 2nd and 3rd year visited the Hero Honda Automobile bike and scooter manufacturing plant namely Hero Motocorp Ltd., Haridwar on dated Feb 22, 2020 along with Faculty Mr. Dinesh D. Gahlot and Rahul Kumar. This company is largest two wheeler manufacturer in the world.

Sports Scholarships: The institute provides sports scholarships to the students who have received sports certificates at any four levels- School, State, District and National.The sports quota scholarship provided by RIT is mentioned below:

Students who have played at National level may receive a 50% scholarship on tuition fee.
Students who have played at state level may receive a 30% scholarship on tuition fee.
Students who have played at District level may receive a 20% scholarship on tuition fee.
Students who have played at School level receive a 10% scholarship on tuition fee.
State Scholarships: The states of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand offer various scholarships based on both need and merit to the students.
Minority Welfare Scholarships: Students belonging to notified minority communities viz. Muslim/Christian/Sikh/Buddhist/Jain/Parsi (Zoroastrian) studying in India only and fulfilling the Scheme guidelines are eligible to apply for these scholarships.

In today’s world, an appropriate job is of utmost importance for all the engineering and management professionals. RIT’s T&P Cell provides full satisfaction to the students after completion of their courses. Leading companies across various disciplines come for campus placements at RIT. In technical courses, nearly all the students are placed even one year before the completion of the course. The Placement Cell is able to provide on campus, joint campus and off campus placement to the students.
This achievement has been the result of the dedicated team comprising of the T&P officers, student coordinators and faculty members that constantly interact with the corporate world and help prepare students for their careers.

PRE- PLACEMENT ACTIVITIES

Campus Placement	The potential employers are shortlisted on the basis of students’ discipline, their interests and market research. They are then contacted and invited to the campus in accordance with the accepted policy and priorities of RIT. It fulfils dual purposes, firstly for the students securing their future career and secondly for the industry getting the best fresh talent available in the region.
Guest Lectures	We invite different HRs/Professionals from IBM, Oracle, Microsoft, Ambuja etc. to share their professional experience and market trends with the students, which make it easier forstudents to understand the job market.
Workshops	Besides theoretical and practical knowledge,It’s a must to have an experiential learning of the subject. For this, different professional workshops are organized every now and then.
Personality Development Programmes	Personality Development is as much needed as practical knowledge. Separate faculties are assigned for the PDP sessions. Mostly, with the help of corporate professionals we keep on evaluating our students’ level off competence and prepare them to perform brilliantly in the market from the very beginning of theircareer.
Mock Interview Sessions	As the qualitative placement is the prime objective of the placement Team, the Mock-Interview Sessions have always been in practice to prepare students to sit and crack the Interviews of the companies.
Industrial Visits	The primary purpose of the regular industrial visits is to have a sound knowledge of the theoretical principles. The exposure to industrial process and environment provides the student a view of the whole system.
Skill Enhancement Programme	Personality development has become an important tool today for developing overall skills that help the students to develop professionally as well as personally. PDP is a full-fledged course in RIT, wherein an all year extensive training is delivered to the students by the professionals.
