Research Fellow

The position of research fellow normally requires a doctorate degree but, Bsc graduates can also begin their career in research as a junior research fellow (JRF). It is one of the high paid jobs in the field of science and research, Simple Bsc. graduates can opt for this career in a specific major subject like chemistry, biology.etc. Salary in this career revolves around 35K-100K per month. Generally, students with strong core subjects opt for this field.

IIT JAM

The basic thought of a student after graduating from science is to go for post-graduation in the same field. For M. Sc. There are several thousand institutes in the country, but IIT’s are always the most prominent institutes of INDIA. If you want to do M.Sc. from IIT you need to give the joint admission test popularly known as IIT JAM.  It has been conducted from 2004 to provide admissions to M.Sc. (Four Semesters), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, etc. Programs at the IITs and Integrated Ph.D. Degree Programmes at IISc for consolidating Science as a career option for bright students.

Professor/Lecturer

Fond of teaching well you can become a professor/lecturer in the science field just follow these steps. First, you need to choose a subject after graduation in which you are interested. Then you need to pursue M.Sc in that subject and acquire at least 55% marks. At last, you need to sit in NET examinations clearing which you will become an assistant professor and your teaching journey will begin. Avg. salary is around 40k-150k per month.

Health Care Sectors

Health care sector is a very vast sector with n number of career fields.  Science graduates can work in this sector and can also become entrepreneurs by starting their own business in this field. This field contains a variety of Job roles:

  • Pharma manufacturing

  • Physiotherapists

Food technology

Forensic Sciences

This field is trending in recent years. Forensic science has now become a specialization field which consists of courses upto doctoral level. Science graduates with a degree in forensic science can opt to become medical investigators. Several different government jobs are also there for them such as investigator,Toxicologist, Forensic pathologists.etc. These fields are reserved for forensic science graduates hence it is an advantage for these students.

Avg. salary in this field depends on the degree level. A bachelor can become an assistant and can grab a salary upto 25k per month, whereas a postgraduate specialised degree in this field can lead to salary upto 50-70k per month.

Nautical Science

This is another emerging field which has become popular due to its high salary and totally different work experience. A B.Sc. Nautical science degree is basically meant to learn all the technical, geological and conceptual aspects of water transportation. Indian Navy has also started teaching this course. In this the students are employed on the ship and enjoy salary packages as high as 18LPA for experienced and 8-10 LPA for freshers. Private ship trade firms also hire such students. The different job roles include Marine superintendent, Nautical Deck Officer, Deck surveyor.etc.

Biotechnology

This field is the most underrated field from the last decades, But now everyone in India is feeling the need for biotechnology. This is often referred to as the research and development field in medical, agricultural, chemical, food technology etc.  Biotechnology graduates find jobs in pharmaceutical, food manufacturing companies. Computer science

Aviation

Yes! You can get into the aviation sector also by bachelor degree in aerospace science or avionics. In this job roles include airport ground duty, Maintenance engineers, Pre flight check staff, Designing.etc. Avg salary is 25k-60k. Apart from this if one wants to opt for becoming a pilot he/she can go for CPL after a science graduation. Many air transport manufacturing companies also higher these graduates such as HAL in India with a decent salary package upto 25LPA.
