JKCET full form is Jammu & Kashmir Common Entrance Test. Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination (JKBOPEE) conducts Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test (JKCET) for admission to UG engineering degree courses in the state.
Latest Notification
JKCET 2025- JKOPEE has postponed the exam dates. As per the notification, JKCET 2025 exam date, which was previously announced by the board, has been deferred. The authorities will announce the revised exam date of JKCET 2022 soon on the official website.
As per JKCET 2025 Exam Pattern, the exam will be conducted in pen-paper mode. Each question will carry one mark while 0.25 marks will be deducted on account of every incorrect response. JKCET 2025 Syllabus depends on the requirement of subjects for the particular course. The syllabus for the examination will consist of various topics from the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) of the 11th and 12th syllabi. JKCET Practice Papers are very helpful in understanding the pattern, marking scheme, and difficulty level of the exam. Candidates can solve the mock test along with JKCET practice papers which will help you a lot in preparation.
Registration
Application Form
JKCET 2025 Application Form is released on March 2025. Candidates can follow the steps given below for reference to fill out the application form. Before starting to fill out the application form, candidates should collect all the required documents for uploading the application form.
- Step 1: Registration – Candidates can fill out the online application form from the official website of BOPEE i.e. jakbopee.org/ jkbopee.gov.in After filling in all the credentials click on ‘Submit’. After the successful submission of the registration form candidate will get an application number.
- Step 2: Fee Payment – Make the payment through the official website. The online application fee is INR 1200 which can be paid via Debit Card/ Credit Card
- Step 3: Filling Details in Application Form – After successful payment of the fee, one must fill in the following details: Personal details, Basic details, Educational details, Communicational details, etc.
- Step 4: Uploading of Documents – Certificate of Permanent Address, Marksheet of the qualifying exam, Matriculation examination certificate as a Date of Birth proof, Reserved category certificate
- Step 5: Upload Images – Upload Passport size photograph/Signature/ Thumb Impression in .jpg format. The size of the images should be between 10–50 kB.
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria of JKCET 2025 consist of the requirements that the candidates need to meet before applying for the exam. JKCET 2025 eligibility criteria have to be checked before registration since ineligible candidates may get disqualified. The official JKCET eligibility criteria have been listed below:
JKCET 2025 Eligibility Criteria
- Age Limit – Candidates should be at least 17 years old as of December 31, 2024. There is no upper age bar.
- Domicile - The candidates should be permanent residents of J&K state.
- Education Qualification – Should have qualified 10+2th (or equivalent) examination from a recognized statutory Board/University. Those candidates who will be appearing for the qualifying examination in 2025 will also be allowed to participate. English. Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics should have been studied and qualified by the candidates.
- Minimum Marks Required – At least 50% marks should have been secured in the qualifying exam by the candidates belonging to Open Merit including the Children of Defence Personnel, Children of ParaMilitary Forces, and Children of State Police Personnel, and candidates possessing outstanding proficiency in Sport in the qualifying exam. For SC/ST and other Socially and Educationally Backward Classes candidates, the marks required is 40%.
Exam Pattern
JKCET 2025 exam will be conducted in an offline mode i.e. pen and paper-based. JKCET 2025 Exam Pattern will consist of two papers i.e. Paper 1 which is a combined exam for Physics and Chemistry and Paper 2 for Biology or Mathematics as per the candidate’s stream.
- The type of questions is – Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
- One will be awarded 1 mark for every correct answer.
- A negative marking of 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

Counselling
Candidates who manage to clear the exam would become eligible for JKCET 2025 Counselling process based on the merit list.
- Candidates who will qualify for the exam will get their counselling letter online after logging into the candidate’s portal.
- No separate counselling letter will be sent by post.
- Candidates must make a payment of INR 500 for the counselling process.
- They must bring all the original documents on the day of counselling.
- In the counselling, process candidates must give their preferences for college and course. The selection of candidates for admission will be based on the candidate’s merit list admission.
Given below are the important documents required in the counselling process.
- Reserved Category Certificate (if applicable)
- Marks certificate of the qualifying examination issued by the concerned Board
- Matriculation or equivalent examination certificate as proof of Date of Birth

Steps to Download JKCET Admit Card:
- Visit the Official Website:
Go to the official website of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE): jkbopee.Gov.In.
- Navigate to the Admit Card Section:
On the homepage, search for the link classified "JKCET Admit Card" or go to the Examinations section and pick "Admit Card".
- Enter Required Details:
Enter your Application Number and Date of Birth or different credentials as required.
- Download the Admit Card:
Once your info are submitted, your admit card will be displayed on the screen.
Review the information cautiously, and if the whole lot is correct, down load the admit card.
- Print the Admit Card:
Take a printout of the admit card and maintain it safe. You will want to hold it to the examination center together with a legitimate ID evidence.
