Eligibilty Criteria

The KPSC Chief Librarian Recruitment Exam of 2022 has not yet stated its eligibility criteria, yet it is assumed to remain the same as it was in the previous years. Given below are some of the educational and age-wise eligibility criteria that candidates need to meet in order to sit for the exam.

Educational Qualifications

Candidates applying for the exam need to meet certain educational demands to be eligible for the recruitment. They must possess the minimum educational qualification of a postgraduate degree in Library Science from a recognized college or university with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in the exam.

Age Limit

Applicants who are applying for the post of KPSC Chief Librarian must be aged between 18 to 35 years. There is age relaxation for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes according to the government rules. Maximum and minimum age limits as per categories are listed in the table given below:

Exam Pattern

The KPSC Chief Librarian written exam has 2 papers of 200 marks each. The total time duration for the written exam is 3 hours and 15 minutes. Paper-I consists of questions from General Topics. Paper-II consists of questions from selected Professional Subjects. Both the papers are set with MCQs (multiple choice questions) each carrying 1 mark. A negative marking of 0.25 marks is deducted for each wrong answer marked by the candidates.

Interview

Candidates who are able to score more than the cut-off marks of the KPSC Chief Librarian Recruitment Exam 2022 are shortlisted for this round of a Personal Interview. In this round the candidates are questioned on their professional knowledge of their position which they have to show and prove why they deem fit for this post.

Document Verification

Candidates who score more than the cut-off marks are directly shortlisted for this round. Others who are eligible for this round are the ones who pass through both the previous rounds- Written Exam and Personal Interview. In this round, the candidates’ documents are verified till the final recruitment is done. Failure to produce the required documents shall result in the disqualification of the candidate.

Syllabus

The KPSC Chief Librarian exam is a computer-based written exam conducted to check the applicant’s knowledge if they are proficient enough to handle the library-specific duties. The KPSC Chief librarian exam is mainly divided into two parts. Part I of the syllabus consists of General Studies and Part II consists of Specific Paper topics.
