Eligibilty Criteria

Candidates should completely read the eligibility criteria for the post of constable in the Punjab Police. He/she must be a citizen of India. Other details are explained below as follows -

  • Candidates must have completed class XII or the equivalent of a recognized board.
  • Applications for positions such as constable and SI candidates must be between 18 and 25 years.
  • There will be an annual respite provision for SC / ST / OBC nominees according to the Punjab regional government.
  • If you are applying for the job of constable, you must complete class XII from the Punjab Provincial Board / Institute.
  • A candidate must be a citizen of India.

Punjab Police Constable Age Limit

The age of the candidates who are willing to apply for the constable post must be between 18 to 25 years as of 1st January 2022. However, for the reserved category candidates, age relaxation has been considered.

Punjab Police Constable Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have passed 10 + 2 or the equivalent exam from a reputed institution or university and Punjabi as one of the compulsory or selected courses with a mark of at least 60% for standard phase students and 50% for SC / ST / BC students.
  • In the case of ex-servicemen, the minimum qualification will be a matric pass.

Punjab Police Constable Physical Standards

  • The length of the male should not be less than 167.7 cm, the chest should be 86.3 cm, extending 5 cm.
  • The female height should be at least 157.5 cm and the weight should be 47 kg.

  • Candidates must be fit to complete the 100-meter race in 15 seconds, 800 meters in 170 Seconds, high jump in 1.20 meters, long jump in 3.80 meters, and shot put (7.26 kg) 5.60 meters.
  • The right angle view should be 6/6 and the left eye should be 6/6.
  • Vision near the right eye should be 0/5 and the left eye should be 0/5.

Nationality - A candidate should be a citizen of India, hence, holds the nationality of India.

Exam Pattern

The first phase of selection will be intended for OMR-based testing. The language of the test will be Punjabi and English. A total of 100 MCQs will be there for 100 marks. There will be no negative marking.

  • The paper will appear in Objective Type Questions.
  • There will be 3 sections on paper - general information, numerical power, and reasoning.
  • There will be 100 questions.
  • General knowledge will have 30 questions of 30 marks.
  • Numeracy skills will have 30 questions of 30 marks.
  • The reasoning portion will have 40 questions for 40 marks.
  • The duration will be of 120 minutes.

Physical Screening

Below are the details of the physical screening of the constable post -

Male

  • 1600 Metres Race in 6 Minutes 60 Seconds.
  • Long Jump 3.80 Meters(3 Chances).
  • High Jump 1.10 Meters(3 Chances).

Male Candidate - Ex-Servicemen (Upto 35 years of age) - Expected

  • 1400 Metres Race in 9 Minutes.
  • 10 Full Squads

Male Candidate - Ex-Servicemen (Above 35 years of age) - Expected

  • 1400 Metres Race in 12 Minutes.
  • 10 Full Squads

Female

  • 800 Metres Race in 4 Minutes
  • Long Jump 3.00 Meters(3 Chances).
  • High Jump 0.95 Meters(3 Chances).
Syllabus

All the candidates are advised to go through these topics very well and prepare their study plan accordingly. One should target to score very high in the written test round as it will make other rounds easier. As per the rules, the following topics are been covered in this examination.

Discussion Syllabus: Coding-decoding, arrangements, analogies, analytical reasoning, syllogisms, number series, directions, data sufficiency, non-verbal reasoning, classifications, symbols and notations, visual ability, blood relationships, symmetry, similarities, and differences.

Numerical Ability: HCF & LCM, numerical system, time and work, profit and loss, ratio and proportions, time and distance, decimal and fractions, data interpretation, simple and compound interest, mixtures and allegations, and problem on ages.

General Awareness: Technology and research issues, Indian defense, sport, financial and credit policies, history, conferences, current affairs, books and writers, important dates, news of India and neighboring countries, Indian Constitution, awards, government schemes, international organizations, and financial institutions.

English - Punjabi to English translation, comprehension reading, sentence rearrangement and correction, error spotting, spelling correction, fill in the blanks, and vocabulary.
