Eligibilty Criteria

To take the Supreme Court Law Clerk Recruitment exam, candidates must meet the eligibility requirements. Two parts of the eligibility criteria are as follows:

Supreme Court Law Clerk Education Qualifications

Candidates who wish to take the Supreme Court Law Clerk Recruitment exam 2022 must possess the following educational qualifications:

  • For enlistment as an Advocate, the candidate must have completed Graduation in Law (as of the date of the interview) from any recognized School/College/University/Institution established by law in India and recognized by the Bar Council of India.
  • Candidates enrolled in the 5th year of the Five-Year Integrated Law Course are also eligible to apply, but must provide proof of law qualification at the time of interview/before beginning work as a Law Clerk-cum-Research Assistant.

Supreme Court Law Clerk Age Limit

  • The age range for the Supreme Court Law Clerk position is 18 to 27 years. Candidates must be between these ages to be considered for the position. Notably, the age stated on the candidate's Xth admit card or passing certificate will be accepted.
  • Candidates from reservation backgrounds are given some leeway in age limit.
  • Candidates must provide their date of birth as it appears on their 10th-grade certificate.

Exam Pattern

The Supreme Court Law Clerk Written Examination is conducted in two stages. The first stage contains questions from subjects such as Elementary Knowledge of General English, Criminal Law, and so on will be asked, whereas the second stage will be a shorthand test.
