Eligibilty Criteria

TN TRB Assistant Professor- Engineering Candidates must have completed B.E./ B.Tech and M.E./ M.Tech. in Engineering or Technology branch with First Class Division or its similar either in B.E or B.Tech. / M.E. or M.Tech
TN TRB Assistant Professor- Law
  • Candidates must have a MA Degree in any of the universities in Tamil Nadu or a similar degree in the respective subjects as may be specified by the Government with no less than 55 percent in the respective subject. SC/ST category candidates can apply with 50 percent as well; Provided further that holders of Ph.D. degree who have completed their Master's in the respective subject prior to the 19th September 1991


  • Master's degree in Law from a recognised university with minimum 55 percent of marks and a good academic record. SC/ST candidates must get not less than 50 percent marks; Provided further that holders of PhD in Law who have passed their Master's degree in Law prior to the 19th September 1991, shall possess not less than 50 percent marks in the Master's degree in Law


  • Must have qualified in NET/ accredited Test. Provided however, that candidates, who are or have been awarded a Phd. Degree as per the University Grants Commission Regulations, 2009, as amended in 2016 (3rd Amendment) will be exempted from the minimum eligibility requirements of NET/SLET/SET or an accredited Test”.


  • Must be an advocate in the Bar council.
TN TRB Assistant Professor- Arts & Science Candidates must hold a PG Degree in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks and a pass in the NET/ SLET/ SET / SLST / CSIR / JRF as per UGC Norms in the relevant subject. (OR) Must have a PG Degree in the relevant subject with not less than 55% marks and have qualified the NET/ SLET/ SET / SLST / CSIR / JRF as per UGC Norms in the relevant subject.

TN TRB Assistant Professor Age Limit 2022

The Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board (TN TRB) prescribes the age limits for the candidates applying as Assistant Professors. The age limit is mentioned below:

TN TRB Assistant Professor- Engineering Candidates should not be over 57 years of age, as on 01.07.2016.
TN TRB Assistant Professor- Law Candidates should not be over 40 years of age, as on 01.07.2018. For BC, BC(M), MBC, SC, SC(A), ST and Differently Abled candidates, the age shall not exceed 45 years as on 01.07.2018.
TN TRB Assistant Professor- Arts & Science Candidates must not have completed 57 years as on July 1, 2019 as the age of superannuation is 58 years.
