Eligibilty Criteria

The Commission has established eligibility standards in terms of age, educational attainment, nationality, and other factors.

UKPSC Assistant Professor Age Limit

The candidate must be between the ages of 21 and 42 as of July 1, 2022. According to State Government laws, the upper age restriction for reserved category candidates would be reduced.

Because of the ongoing pandemic, the maximum age limit has been lifted by one year to help those candidates who reached the maximum age limit during that time.

UKPSC Assistant Professor Educational Qualifications

Candidates must have some educational qualifications to be considered for the position. The following are the specifics:

Discipline Qualification
Arts, Commerce, Humanities, Education, Law, Social Sciences, Sciences, Languages, Library Science, Physical Education, and Journalism & Mass Communication
  • Master‘s degree with 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/OBC NCL/PWD) AND must have cleared CSIR NET/UGC NET exam, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree by the University Grants Commission may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET OR
  • Ph.D. degree obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among the top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the following: Quacquarelli Symonds (QS)/ The Times Higher Education (THE) / The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Ton University (Shanghai)
Music, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, and Other Traditional Indian Art Forms like Sculpture, etc.
  • Master‘s degree with 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/OBC NCL/PWD) AND must have cleared CSIR NET/UGC NET exam, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree by the University Grants Commission may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET OR
  • He/she must be a traditional or a professional artist with highly commendable professional achievement in the concerned with a Bachelor’s degree, who has;
  • studied under a noted/reputed traditional Master(s)/Artist(s);
  • Has been ‘A‘ grade artist of AIR/Doordarshan;
  • Has the ability to explain, with logical reasoning the subject concerned; and
  • Has adequate knowledge to teach theory with illustrations in the discipline concerned.

UKPSC Assistant Professor Nationality Criteria

The applicant must be one of the following:

  • A citizen of India
  • A Tibetan refugee who has been in India permanently since January 1, 1962
  • A person of Indian heritage who moved to India permanently from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, or Tanzania.
