Canara bank is among the largest public sector banks owned by the Government of India. Every year candidates have to go through a recruitment exam of Bank PO, conducted by Canara Bank, specially designed for the bank sector.
Registration
Steps for applying:
- Candidates should visit the official website of Canara Bank.
- Visit the Canara Bank's website and tap on the option “CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE” to generate the Online Application form.
- Complete the application form with all the details asked.
- Upload the scanned documents according to the specified dimensions and format.
- Before clicking on FINAL SUBMIT, candidates should preview the application form to see if any correction is needed.
- Proceed with the payment to finish the application form
Eligibility Criteria
Nationality:
- Candidates should be a citizen of India or
- Citizen of Nepal or Bhutan or
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of settling in India
- A person of Indian birth in India who has relocated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, and East African countries like Ethiopia Kenya, Malawi, United Republic Of Tanzania, Zambia, Uganda, Zaire, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
- Candidates must make sure that the Indian Government has issued them an eligibility certificate.
Educational Qualification:
- Candidates should have a degree with a minimum of 60% marks and 55% for SC /ST /PWD or equivalent grades in any discipline.
- Candidates must have knowledge of both operating and working on a computer. Candidates who do not have the same should do the same within 6 months from the date of joining the bank
- Applicants must know how to speak and write in Hindi
Age limit:
Canara Bank PO will invite applications from young and passionate candidates who want to make a career as a banker in Canara Bank. The age of applicants must be in between 20 to 30 years.
Age Relaxation:
Candidates belonging to the reserved categories have a relaxation in the upper age limit for 5 years. Further details from the table below:

Exam Pattern

Syllabus
Syllabus for Canara Bank PO has 4 sections i.e. Quantitative Aptitude, General English, Reasoning, General Awareness. In Quantitative Aptitude topics are Time and distance, Time and work, Ratio and proportion carries a good weightage. In Reasoning, topics like Seating Arrangement, puzzles and Input and Output etc. plays an important role. For General Awareness, having knowledge of current happenings is very important as it also carries good weightage in the exam. Good English language skills is also very important to score good marks in this section.
