ICMR JRF is conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research for admission in the Junior Research Fellowship. ICMR releases the details, notification and syllabus of JRF exam on its official website. The qualified candidate for the ICMR JRF examination will get grants from ICMR while completing their Ph.D. course. The exam is organized by the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh.

The ICMR JRF examination will be conducted after releasing the countrywide admission notice which is usually published in March/April every year in the leading English Newspapers of India and as well as on the website.

Registration

Before applying, candidates must follow the admission notice which will be published in the advertisement in various Newspapers. The candidate must fill in the application form according to the instructions. Incomplete applications will be rejected.

Steps for Filling up the Application Form of ICMR JRF.

Visit the official website at icmr.nic.in.
Then visit the “New Registration” button.
Read the instructions carefully.
Fill in the details like Name, DOB, Gender, Mobile Number, and Email Id in the given registration form.
Click on the “Submit” button to submit the ICMR JRF 2022 registration form.
After the registration process, the user id and password will be sent to the mobile number and Email ID.
Fill in all the personal details, qualification details, preferences for test centers, and upload the images of a specific size in the application form.
After checking the application form, submit it in the online mode.
Take a printout of that form for further use.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who are appearing for ICMR JRF 2022 are recommended to check the eligibility criteria before applying. The eligibility criteria are very important to be fulfilled for this recruitment.

ICMR JRF Age Limit

The upper age limit for admission for ICMR JRF is 28 years as of 30-09-2022.
The upper age limit can be relaxable for five years i.e 33 years for candidates of SC/ST, PwD, and female candidates.
Three years i.e 31 years can be relaxable for the OBC category.

ICMR JRF Educational Qualification

Candidates must hold M.Sc. /M.A. or equivalent degree with minimum 55% marks for General/EWS/OBC candidates from a recognized institute.
SC/ST/PwD category can be attained 50% for ICMR JRF from a recognized institute.

Application Fee

The ICMR JRF application fee varies with the categories of the candidates. The details about the fees based on each category are given below.

Exam Pattern

The candidate must follow the important details of the exam pattern before appearing in the ICMR JRF exam. They must also check the ICMR previous year question papers to know more about the exam.

There are 2 sections in the ICMR JRF exam. The sections are mentioned below:

The Aptitude Section (Section A) contains 50 questions on

(i) scientific phenomenon in everyday life;

(ii) general knowledge in sciences; and

(iii) common statistics.

All these questions are compulsory and each question carries 1 mark.
The subject Specific Section (Section B & C) contains two subjects like (B) Life Sciences and (C) Social Science.
The candidate can attempt questions from any one of the two areas.
Each section of B and C would contain 100 questions and the candidate has to attain 75 questions from any of the sections.
Candidates must mention which option between Section B and C they had attempted.
The candidate is given 120 minutes to complete the paper.
There will be a negative marking of 0.25 Per Question for every wrong answer
The language of all the sections (Sections A, B, C) will be English.
Section B is for the Life Sciences category and Section C is for the Social Sciences category.
