What exactly is NIFT?
NIFT, or the National Institute of Fashion Technology, is one of India’s most prestigious design schools. Every year, NIFT holds an entrance test for undergraduate (Bachelor in Design, Bachelor of Fashion Technology) and postgraduate (Master of Fashion Technology, Master in Design) fashion courses in India.
Latest Notification
The National Institute of Fashion Technology is planned to hold NIFT 2025 in February 2025. NIFT 2025 registration will begin in December 2024, coinciding with the publication of the official notification.
- Every year, around 40,000 students take the GAT (General Ability Test) and CAT (Computer Aptitude Test) to get admission to NIFTs (Creativity Ability Test). The National Institute of Fashion Technology has a total of 4517 seats.
- Candidates for undergraduate programmes must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board.
- Quantitative Ability, Communication Ability, English Comprehension, Analytical Ability, General Knowledge, and Current Affairs are the five components of the NIFT Syllabus.
- The NIFT CAT Paper is three hours long and assesses the candidates' skills and observational abilities. The NIFT GAT exam lasts two hours and is exclusively given to students enrolled in Bachelor of Design programmes.
Registration
What is the procedure for completing the NIFT Registration Form 2025?
The following is the procedure for filling out the NIFT application form:
Step 1: Candidates should go to the National Institute of Fashion Technology's official website, https://www.nift.ac.in.
Step 2: Next, go to the NIFT home page and search for the Prospectus under "Admission."
Step 3: On the new screen, the NIFT application site registration page will appear. If you are a first-time user for the NIFT 2025 entrance examination, go to the “new application portal” and complete the NIFT 2025 registration process.
Step 4: Save your NIFT login id and password for future use.
Step 5: To complete the NIFT entrance examination form fill-up, the candidate must fill in the remaining information, such as Education Qualification, Category, and so on.
Step 6: After that, the candidate must identify themselves by uploading their scanned portrait, signature, and other required papers in the NIFT Registration, which are listed above, within the given size and pixel.
Step 7: The final step is to pay and complete the NIFT 2025 registration procedure. To finish the application procedure for NIFT 2025, applicants must pay the application costs. The application fee for NIFT 2025 is varied for each category.
Step 8: Once your payment is complete, you can download the application form for future use.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility Criteria for NIFT 2025
Students can enroll in undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the National Institute of Fashion Technology. The applicant's age must be less than 24 years old for undergraduate admission, and there is no age limit for postgraduate entrance.

Exam Pattern
Exam Pattern for NIFT 2025
- The General Ability Test (GAT) will be the first stage of the NIFT Entrance Examination 2025, followed by the Creativity Ability Test (CAT).
- The NIFT Entrance Test is a written examination that is administered for all five courses via the General Ability Test (GAT).
- Candidates who pass the GAT are required to take the Creativity Ability Test (CAT).
- Aspirants who pass both tests will be required to take the Situation Test, followed by a Personal Interview.
- Only the Bachelor in Fashion Technology, Master in Fashion Technology, and Master of Fashion Management will be eligible for the General Ability Test. Furthermore, the NIFT admission examination has no negative marking.

Counselling
Counseling for the NIFT Entrance Exam 2025: Online and Offline
Authorities will release the dates for the first round of NIFT counselling in 2025 via an online statement. The NIFT counselling process will be repeated twice more. The scheduled admission procedure will only be necessary for approved applicants. The NIFT will also examine their paperwork.
NIFT 2025 Counseling Procedure
Applicants must use their form number, date of birth, and password to register. It is also required to select an NIFT 2025 counselling campus from which to apply for admissions. They will receive an SMS and an email from the system after a successful registration.
NIFT 2025 counselling will be conducted solely on the basis of merit. They must choose a seat in the presence of the nodal officer. After being assigned a seat, the candidate will be required to pay the entire fee at the NIFT campus. The nodal officer would issue his or her allocation letter/receipt.
