The candidates who have completed their technical degree in Electrical or Civil can apply for the post of Field Engineer. The candidates are selected on the basis of written examinations and interviews. The written test is for 1 hour and includes two papers. Selection for the post of PGCIL Engineer shall be made on the basis of the screening tests. This screening test is mainly for elimination purposes and will not have any weightage in final merit. A screening test is for one hour and in two parts, part 1 has 50 questions on relevant discipline, and part 2 has 25 questions on aptitude. No negative marking is there. Qualifying marks for the UR category are 40% and for a reserved category that is 30%. The merit list will be drawn mainly on the basis of Interviews.
