The West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) conducts the recruitment process in order to select and appoint candidates for various posts and designations in Group A, B, C, and D services such as West Bengal Civil Service (Executive), West Bengal Police Service, West Bengal Co-operative Service, etc.
WBPSC has set a three-stage selection process for the West Bengal Civil Services (WBCS) exam:
- WBCS Prelims Exam
- WBCS Mains Exam
- WBCS Personality Test
WBCS Prelims 2022 exam is a screening test to shortlist candidates for the WBCS Mains Exam. Candidates who clear the WBCS Mains exam are eligible for the interview. The final section of the candidates would be based on the Mains and Interview marks.

The official notification for the WBPSC recruitment 2022 is not yet released by the West Bengal Public Service Commission. Registration

How to Fill the WBPSC 2022 Application Form?
Below given are the steps to be followed in order to apply for the WBPSC 2022 exam:
- Visit the official website of WBPSC.
- Click on the “Apply for WBPSC” section available and start filling the application form.
- The candidates will require a valid email id, contact details while filling the examination form.
- After filling in all the essential details, you will have to “submit” the application form.
- Once the application form is submitted you will get your login credentials on your registered email id.
- Now the candidate has to log in with the credentials given to them in order to fill the rest of the application form.
- The candidate can check the required eligibility criteria and fill in all the personal and educational details as per the requirements.
- Confirm your details and click on “save and next”.
- The candidates can now attach their passport size photograph and their signature in the prescribed format.
- The candidates can attach their mark sheet and the documents required
- Now the candidates can choose preferences for their desired services.
- The candidates can save, preview and click the proceed button to submit the application form.
- The candidate can pay the application fees online.
Eligibility Criteria

WBPSC 2022 Eligibility: Nationality
The candidate must be a citizen of India in order to apply for WBPSC 2022. The candidates with few other nationalities who are declared eligible for government posts are also eligible.

WBPSC 2022 Eligibility: Educational Qualifications
- The candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree, i.e, an undergraduate degree in any discipline from any recognised university or institute.
- The candidate must be able to read, write and speak in Bengali (not required for those aspirants whose mother tongue is Nepali).
Application Fee
The candidates need to pay the application fees for the WBPSC Recruitment application process. The SC/ST candidates of West Bengal State and Persons with disabilities (40% and above) having a physical disability are not required to pay any application fee.

Exam Pattern
The WBPSC is a two-tier-based examination. The candidates have to clear the Prelims as well as the Mains examination for the final selection. The Prelims exam is a screening test to shortlist candidates for the Mains Exam. Candidates who will clear the WBPSC Mains exam are eligible for the interview. The Mains and Interview scores are considered for the final selection list.
WBPSC Prelims Exam Pattern 2022
- The WBPSC Prelims exam consists of only one objective type paper.
- The Prelims paper consists of questions from General Studies and Aptitude worth 200 marks.
- The duration of the Prelims exam is 2.5 hours.
- The marks obtained from the Prelims exam will not be added to the final result as it is only a screening test.

WBPSC Mains Exam Pattern 2022
The candidates who qualify cutoff marks in the WBCS Prelims Exam are further shortlisted for the Mains exam. The Mains exam will consist of six compulsory papers along with one optional subject having two papers. Each paper will carry 200 marks and will be of 3 hours each. The candidates that will qualify for the mains examination will be called for the personality test.
The optional subject papers are only for candidates applying for Group A or B. the candidates applying for services in Group Cand D are not required to give optional papers.
