Jaipur | 5 January 2026
Vivekananda Global University (VGU), Jaipur hosted an exclusive US–India Educators’ Roundtable as part of the prestigious TiE Global Summit, bringing together 34 eminent delegates from the United States and diverse Indian states for an intellectually charged, future-facing dialogue on entrepreneurial education and institutional innovation.
The high-powered roundtable witnessed participation from leading academic institutions, global networks, and ecosystem builders, including Amity University Punjab, Swami Keshvanand Institute of Technology & Management, Gramothan, Jagrati Yatra, VGU Jaipur, Kanoria College Jaipur, IIS Jaipur, Houston Community College (USA), Walnut Schools, TiE Tampa (USA), TiE Atlanta (USA), and TiE U Global Co-Lead, among others.
All delegates were warmly welcomed and felicitated by Prof. N.D. Mathur, President, Vivekananda Global University, who underscored the importance of global academic collaboration in shaping agile, entrepreneurial, and socially responsive institutions.
The roundtable was chaired by Dr. Paul Lopez, TiE Atlanta, who transformed the session into a dynamic team-building and deep-learning experience rather than a conventional panel discussion. Dr. Lopez ensured that every participant actively engaged in peer networking, cross-learning, and reflection, with a clear objective: each delegate should leave with at least one best practice that could be meaningfully implemented in their own institution.
The discussions went beyond traditional entrepreneurship, delving into emerging concepts such as regenerative economics, purpose-driven startups, and the evolving role of educators as ecosystem enablers. A unique highlight of the session was the “Superpower Exchange”, where delegates identified their institutional or personal strengths and collectively explored how these could be converted into scalable best practices across geographies.
Several innovative ideas to inculcate startup culture among students emerged during the deliberations. A standout model was presented by Vivekananda Global University, which has already operationalized a credit-based Hackathon/Ideathon framework. Under this model, students are trained to identify real societal problems, ideate solutions, and build startups as part of their academic curriculum, with the university facilitating access to investors and mentors.
This initiative aligns directly with the vision of Er. Onkar Bagaria, CEO, Vivekananda Global University, whose core mission is to create job providers rather than job seekers by embedding entrepreneurship deeply within higher education.
Entrepreneurial education and robust mentorship systems emerged as the central themes of the session—areas in which TiE Global is making sustained global efforts to empower educators and institutions alike.
The roundtable was further enriched by insightful intellectual contributions from Prof. D.V.S. Bhangavanulu, Pro-President, VGU, and Ms. Malvika Dudi Bagaria, Director, Faculty of Management, VGU, who emphasized the need for structured mentorship, industry integration, and values-driven innovation in academic ecosystems.
The US–India Educators’ Roundtable at VGU stood out as a power-packed confluence of ideas, experiences, and actionable strategies, reinforcing the role of universities as incubators of innovation, entrepreneurship, and societal transformation in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
