Border Security Force is India’s largest border guarding force. It is the first line of defence of Indian Territories. Every year BSF releases vacancies for various posts at multiple levels. The prime job includes:
Border guarding and security,
Promoting sense of security in people,
Prevention of illegal activities on the border like- smuggling, trafficking etc.
Controlling trans-border crimes, and stopping unauthorized entry or exit in the border of India.
Performing special tasks assigned at the time of war.
Latest Notification
Border Security Force is the largest and first line of defence of India’s border. Every year several vacancies are released for recruitment by the Border Security Force, the largest paramilitary force. The candidates need to go through three rounds of selection process- written exam, physical test and a medical examination in order to be shortlisted for BSF RO. Indian citizens of the appropriate age and holding necessary qualifications can apply for the examination of BSF Radio Operators. For the year 2022, the official notification regarding the BSF Radio Operator exam has not been released yet. The application process will be conducted online. The written exam consists of a total of 100 questions. The maximum marks of the exam is 200.
Registration
The application process occurs online for the post of BSF RO recruitment. Candidates can check the application form on the official website. The forms are only released on the official website. While filling out the form, keep your essential documents handy. The necessary documents required are - Signature of the candidate( up to 20kb), passport size photograph( upto 40 kb) and educational qualification documents like certificates and diplomas. The candidates need to make sure that the size of the document does not exceed the size mentioned in the instructions. The steps below can be followed in order to fill the application form:
- Step 1: Go to the official website of the Border Security Force- https://bsf.gov.in
- Step 2: On the homepage, look for “Online Registration Page”. Click on the option and submit the required details like phone number and email id.
- Step 3: Your registered id and password will be sent to the email and phone number you provided in the details.
- Step 4: Go to the Login Page and login for further application process.
- Step 5: After logging in by using your credentials, the application form will pop up.
- Step 6: Fill in all the details asked in the form and submit the form.
- Step 7: Upload the asked documents, passport size photograph, signature under the size limit.
- Step 8: At last pay the application fee to finalize your application fee.
- Step 9: After completing the application process, remember to take printouts of the form and payment receipts for future references.

The candidates who are planning to apply and appear for the BSF Radio Operator Exam 2022 should be advised to go through the syllabus for the exam in detail, in order to prepare accordingly. The syllabus will be updated on the official website soon. Date has not been announced for the release of the syllabus on the official website for now.

Eligibility Criteria

BSF RO Eligibility Criteria 2022: Age Limit
The age limit will be released in the official notification on the website of Border Special Force. For the post of BSF Radio Operator, the minimum age required by a candidate is 18 years and the maximum upper age is 23 years. The candidates in between the mentioned age group can apply for the post if they have the proper educational qualification and nationality pass.
Age relaxation is allowed for the candidates belonging to certain categories. The table below contains the age relaxation granted to the categories-

Candidates need to have certain educational degrees and certificates to show in order to appear for the exam. The candidates need to have:
- Diploma in Radio and TV Technology or Electronics or in Telecommunication/Computer/Electrical/ or Mechanical Engineering or Domestic Appliances.
- The candidates need to have a diploma from a recognized institution by the central or state government.
- The candidates need to pass 10+2 level Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with equivalent or fifty percent marks.
- The students must have passed 10+2 level from a recognized Board(CBSE/ICSE or State Board) or an Institution.
Candidates possessing these qualifications can apply for the BSF Radio Operator Post.
BSF RO Eligibility Criteria 2022: Nationality
Candidates who wish to apply for the post of Border Special Force Radio Operator should be a citizen of India. No relaxation is provided in the nationality criteria. Candidates who are not from India or hold Indian citizenship are restricted to apply for the post of BSF Radio Operator.
BSF RO Eligibility Criteria 2022: Total Attempts
There are no limited number of attempts for appearing for the exam of BSF Radio Operator. However, the candidates need to be under the eligible age limit. Between the age of 18 to 23, candidates are free to apply and appear multiple times. Relaxation is allowed in the upper age limit for candidates belonging from certain categories.

- The BSF RO Exam is a written OMR examination which is conducted online.

- Every question contains 2 marks.
- The marking scheme is subject to negative marking. For every wrong question attempted 0.50 marks are deducted.
- For every correct answer 2 marks are allotted.
- The exam duration is 3 hours or 180 minutes.
