Placement
  • Invitations are sent to the companies by the Training & Placement Officer (TPO).
  • On receiving the eligibility criteria from a company/organization, a list of interested students satisfying the eligibility criteria of the company concerned is prepared and the requisite data forwarded to the company concerned.
  • A suitable date for the company’s visit is worked out.
  • After confirmation by the company, the placement cell arranges a Pre-Placement Talk for the students.
  • The company conducts its selection based on data provided by TPO and shortlists students for the interview.
  • The concerned company comes for campus interview and the result is announced usually on the same day.

Over the last fourteen years, since its inception in September 2006, Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology (GIMT) has made great strides in the development of education, infrastructure, human resources and upliftment of the state, the North Eastern Region (NER) and the country. Our institute was established in September 2006 as the first self financed engineering college in Assam,as an initiative of Shrimanta Shankar Academy Society(SSA) offering four engineering programme. We added nine additional programme in subsequent years; three UG programme viz. Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Civil Engineering; six PG programme in Business Administration, Computer Application, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering and Thermal & Fluid Engineering. We have garnered strength during these 14 years of existence to lead our students to a higher level.
