Career tips in ceramic engineering after 12th

Today ceramic is just not confined to the making of potteries. The scope has widened and ceramic engineering is being increasingly used in the aerospace industry to make space shuttle tiles, aircraft engines, manufacturing of airframes. The other areas where ceramics have to be used are in biomedical implants, nuclear fuel uranium oxide pellets, space shuttle program, ballistic protection, space shuttle program, gas burner nozzles. Ceramic engineering is the science and technology of creating objects from inorganic, non-metallic materials. This is done either by the action of heat or at lower temperatures using precipitation reactions from high-purity chemical solutions. Career tips in Ceramic Engineering after 12th  covers the study of the crystalline properties of ceramic materials in order to come up with different ways in which it can be used. The program also covers the utility of ceramic materials in mechanical, chemical, and electrical engineering.

B. Tech Ceramic Technology is a full time four years long course divided into eight semesters. For those who are seeking admission in a bachelor’s degree, it is mandatory to pass in Higher Secondary (10+2) examination with subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The admission procedure is through an entrance test, which is conducted both at the national and the state level, similar to other engineering courses.

Students have the option of working with prestigious institutes like the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Defense Metallurgical Research Laboratory (DMRL), Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), and Institute for Plasma Research (IPR), provided they fulfill the necessary job requirements. Research is also a viable option for pursuing further studies after completion of M. Tech followed by a Ph.D. in Ceramic Technology especially in foreign countries.
