Bihar Teacher Eligibility Test, also known as BTET is a state-level exam that is required for landing encouraging positions in government schools in the state of Bihar. BTET is conducted by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) every year for the teaching aspirants. Candidates with a B.Ed. , can appear for BTET in order to get teaching jobs at the primary and secondary levels of schooling.
BTET consists of two papers namely Paper-I and Paper-II. Paper-I is necessary for those who wish to become a Primary Teacher while Paper-II is necessary for those candidates who want to become Upper Primary Teachers.
Latest Notification
The official notification for BTET will be released on the official website of BSEB. The BTET application form will be released in online mode and the exam shall be conducted in online mode only.
BTET application form will be released in April 2022 and the last date of application will be in the last week of April tentatively. The BTET Admit card 2022 is expected to be issued in May 2022.
Registration
The application form for BTET 2022 needs to be filled in online mode only on the official website of the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB). Below mentioned is a detailed procedure to fill the BTET 2022 application form:
Step 1: BTET 2022 Online Registration
- Visit the official website of BSEB. (http://biharboardonline.bihar.gov.in)
- Click on “Register online for BTET 2022”.
- Fill in the necessary details such as Name, Email, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, and more.
- Click on the ‘Submit’ button.
- A provisional registration number and Password will be sent to the registered email ID of the candidate.
Step 2: BTET 2022 Application Process & Documents Upload
- On successful registration, log in using the registration number and password.
- Fill in the application form giving out the personal details, contact details and educational qualifications.
- Select the option for Paper-I or Paper-II or both Paper-I and Paper-II.
- Upload the scanned copies of the photograph, signature and the required documents.
- The size of the photograph and signature must be less than 1MB.
- Submit the form.
Eligibility Criteria
It is important to check the eligibility criteria before applying for the BTET 2022 exam. Only an Indian national who is a domicile of Bihar state can apply for BTET 202.

BTET Recruitment 2022 Eligibility Criteria: Age Criteria
- The minimum age limit of the applicants is 21 years as on January 1, 2022.
- The maximum age limit is 35 years as on January 1, 2022.
- Age relaxation of 5% will be offered to the female/SC/ST/OBC applicants depending upon the reservation criterion defined by the examination authorities.
- In the case of the reserved category female candidates, only 1 reservation rule is applied.
BTET Recruitment 2022 Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualifications
Here are the eligibility criteria for BTET 2022 exam:
Paper-I: For Teachers I-V class (Primary Level)
- The applicants should have passed Class X with at least 45% marks in aggregate or equivalent.
- Candidates who have completed their graduation in B.SC/ BA/ B. Ed. degree with at least 50% marks can apply for BTET 2022. The students who are appearing in the Final Four Year Bachelor of Elementary Education/a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or a 2-year Diploma in Special Education can also apply for this exam.
Paper-II: For Teachers VI-VIII Class (Upper Primary Level)
- The candidates who have completed their graduation and passed/appearing in the final year of 2-year D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education) are eligible to apply for BTET 2022.
- Those who have completed their graduation with at least 50% marks and passed/appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)/ passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)/B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
- The candidates who have completed their Graduation with a minimum of 45% marks and passed/ appearing in 1- year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) can also apply for BTET 2022.
Application Fee
- Click on the link “Pay application fee”.
- Pay the application fee either online or offline.
- For online payment, pay the application fees using Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking.
- For offline payment, download the SBI e-challan receipt, print the receipt and pay the application fee at the designated SBI branch.
