Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test (HPCET) is a state-level exam held for admission to undergraduate and post-graduate courses offered at various Himachal Pradesh colleges.

The Himachal Pradesh Technical University has announced the HPCET 2025 exam dates (HPTU). HPCET 2025 will be held as an offline test for various courses on July 2025 and July 2025. Candidates began filling out their application forms on the official website, himtu.ac.in, on April 2025. The deadline for submitting the HPCET 2025 application form is 18 June 2025.
HPCET 2025 will be held in an offline format. The exam will consist of objective multiple-choice questions. Candidates must select only one correct answer. Candidates will receive 2 marks for each correct answer and 0.5 marks for each incorrect answer (Applicable for B.Tech/B.Pharmacy/MBA/MBA(T&HM)/MCA courses). Candidates are not permitted to select more than one correct answer.
Candidates will be able to access their HPCET 2025 admit card via the University website, i.e. himtu.ac.in. Candidates must enter their application form number and date of birth to download the e-admit card. The e-admit card will include the card number, the student's photograph, the address of the examination centre, and the examination date. Candidates will not be allowed to take the exam unless they have an e-admit card.
Eligibility Criteria
Before beginning to fill out the online application form for the entrance exam, all candidates must meet AICTE's eligibility criteria for appearing in HPCET 2025.
- Candidates must have passed a 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognised board/university with at least 45% aggregate marks in the general category and at least 40% in the reserved category.
- Candidates must have completed Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in class 12th, as well as one of the following subjects: Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational.
Application Form
The HPCET 2025 Application Form will be available on April 2025. HPCET 2025 applications will be accepted until 18 June 2025. Step 4: Verification: The confirmation stage of the HPCET 2025 application form comes next. The
completed application form appears, and the candidate has two choices: Edit or Submit. Proceed to
Payment. If you want to make changes to the application details, click edit; otherwise, proceed to payment.

Admit Card for HPCET 2025

Counselling for the HPCET 2022
On April 2025, the online registration process for HPCET counselling began. Candidates will be shortlisted for counselling based on the merit list prepared on the basis of scores obtained in HPCET or JEE Main depending upon the test they are applying through for seeking admission. HPTU will begin counselling for JEE Main qualified candidates on July2025 (tentatively), and HPCET qualified candidates on July 2025. (tentatively).
- The first 50% of seats in all participating colleges will be allocated through counselling to JEE Main 2025 qualified candidates, with the remaining seats going to HPCET 2025 qualified candidates.
- If vacant seats remain after counselling for JEE Main 2025 and HPCET 2025, they will be assigned to candidates based on their 10+2 performance.
Seats in state engineering colleges will be assigned to participating candidates based on their preferences during the counselling process. Candidates must pay the HPCET admission fee to secure their seats. Candidates must pay the registration fee online using a debit/credit card or net banking.
Following the completion of the counselling process, candidates must report to their designated institutes for document verification.

- Depending upon the norms decided by the conducting authority of the examination, 5% of the total seats are reserved for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes.
- 22% of the total seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste category.
- Candidates from the Other Backward Classes are given 18% reservation in HPCET 2025.
- General category candidates can avail of a total of 55% reservation in the examination.
- 2 seats in every institute are given to Kashmiri Migrants.
- 5% of the total allocated seats are allocated to the Non-Resident Indian
- Physically challenged candidates are also provided with a total of 5% reservation.
- Candidates belonging to Sports category can avail 2% reservation in HPCET 2025.
