HPCL Recruitment Educational Qualifications

The educational qualification for the post of an engineer is required to be different according to the engineering stream selected by the candidates. There are four different field requirements named Mechanical Engineer, Civil Engineer, Electrical Engineer, and Instrumentation Engineer. The educational qualification for the Engineers and Apprentice are tabulated below:

Post Mandatory Qualification
Mechanical Engineer
  • A 4-year full-time normal engineering course from an AICTE-approved/UGC-recognized institution/deemed university.
  • The graduation stream must be Mechanical or Mechanical and Production.
  • A total of 60% marks in aggregate for UR/OBC NCL/EWS category while 50% for SC/ST/PwBD group.
Civil Engineer
  • A 4-year full-time normal engineering course from an AICTE-approved/UGC-recognized institution/deemed university.
  • The graduation stream must be Civil Engineering.
  • A total of 60% marks in aggregate for UR/OBC NCL/EWS category while 50% for SC/ST/PwBD group.
Electrical Engineer
  • A 4-year full-time normal engineering course from an AICTE-approved/UGC-recognized institution/deemed university.
  • The graduation stream must be Electrical or Electrical and Electronics.
  • A total of 60% marks in aggregate for UR/OBC NCL/EWS category while 50% for SC/ST/PwBD group.
Instrumentation Engineer
  • A 4-year full-time normal engineering course from an AICTE-approved/UGC-recognized institution/deemed university.
  • The graduation stream must be Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or Electronics and Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Electronics.
  • A total of 60% marks in aggregate for UR/OBC NCL/EWS category while 50% for SC/ST/PwBD group.
Apprentice
  • Candidates must have graduated in Engineering from a recognized university in any of the streams listed below:

HPCL Recruitment Overall Eligibility Criteria 2022

Important Points
  • The candidates applying for the ENgineer post need to clear three rounds namely written test, group task, and interview.
  • There is only an interview round for Apprentice
  • Candidates who have previously applied for Apprenticeships are not eligible to reapply.
Exam Pattern

For the post of Engineers, the examination will be conducted in three phases, the first stage will include Computer Based Test, the second phase will be of Group Task and the last stage will include the Interview or Personality test for the final merit list. The shortlisting of the candidates will be done on the marks obtained by them in the Interview round.
