Eligibilty Criteria

HSSC Age Limit and Relaxation

The candidates should not be younger than 17 years and not be older than 42 years of age.

Relaxation of age is granted to all the posts to certain categories. The conditions are as follows:

  • The candidates who belong to the SC/ST category are given an age relaxation of 5 years.
  • The candidates who belong to the PwD category are given an age relaxation of up to 10 years (excluding vacancies for Haryana Police).
  • For former servicemen, the break in the service, or the time between the discharge and the commencement of the process of HSSC enrollment should not be more than three years.

HSSC Educational Criteria

It is mandatory that the candidates meet the necessary educational requirements if they want to appear for the recruitment test. The requirements are in the following data.

Work Supervisor
  • Hindi or Sanskrit should be one of the subjects at matriculation level or higher.
  • Candidates must possess ITI Certificate in the Trade of Building Maintenance/Building Constructor.
  • Candidates must have a work experience of two years in the field of relevance.
Auto Diesel Mechanic
  • Hindi or Sanskrit should be one of the subjects in matriculation level or higher.
  • Candidates should have a certificate from ITI in Mechanical Vehicle Trade.
  • Candidates must have a work experience of two years in the field of relevance.
Carpenter
  • Hindi or Sanskrit should be one of the subjects in matriculation level or higher.
  • Candidates should have a certificate from ITI in Carpenter Trade.
  • Candidates must have a work experience of three years in the field of relevance.
Plumber
  • Hindi or Sanskrit should be one of the subjects in matriculation level or higher.
  • Candidates should have a certificate from ITI in Mechanical Carpenter Trade.
  • Candidates must have a work experience of two years in the field of relevance.
Surveyor
  • Hindi or Sanskrit should be one of the subjects in matriculation level or higher.
  • Candidates should have a certificate (two years) from ITI in Surveyor Trade.
  • Candidates must have a work experience of two years in the field of relevance.
Painter
  • Hindi or Sanskrit should be one of the subjects in matriculation level or higher.
  • Candidates should have a certificate from ITI in Painter Trade.
  • Candidates must have a work experience of two years in the field of relevance.
Mason
  • Hindi or Sanskrit should be one of the subjects in matriculation level or higher.
  • Candidates should have a certificate from ITI in Mason constructor Trade.
  • Candidates must have a work experience of two years in the field of relevance.
Mechanic
  • Hindi or Sanskrit should be one of the subjects in matriculation level or higher.
  • Candidates should have a certificate (two years) from ITI in Refrigeration
  • Candidates must have a work experience of two years in the field of relevance.
Electrician
  • Hindi or Sanskrit should be one of the subjects in matriculation level or higher.
  • Candidates should have a certificate from ITI in Electrician/Wireman Trade
  • Candidates must have a work experience of two years in the field of relevance.
Supervisor
  • Hindi or Sanskrit should be one of the subjects in matriculation level or higher.
  • Candidates should have a certificate from ITI in Mechanic Vehicles Trade
  • Candidates must have a work experience of two years in the field of relevance.
Inspector
  • Hindi or Sanskrit should be one of the subjects in matriculation level or higher.
  • Candidate must have a certificate of graduation from a university that is recognized or similar qualifications.

HSSC Post-wise Eligibility Criteria

Apart from the posts mentioned above, there are some posts that require certain specific educational qualifications and age limits. The details of the same are given below.

The following table shows the educational requirements for some other posts under HSSC:

Junior Engineer 18- 42
  • Candidates must possess a 3-years Diploma in the Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil branch; OR
  • They must have a full-time Bachelor’s course of four years in the respective engineering branch Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil. They should have cleared their matriculation with either Hindi or Sanskrit as one of the subjects.
Gram Sachiv 17- 42 The candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any institute that is recognized by the UGC.
Canal Patwari 18- 42 The candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any institute that is recognized by the UGC.
Sub-Inspector 21- 27 The candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any institute that is recognized by the UGC and they should have cleared their matriculation with either Hindi or Sanskrit as one of the subjects.
Police Constable 18- 25 The candidate must have cleared his/her 10(+2) exams from an institute that is recognized or equivalent. Hindi or Sanskrit should be one of their subjects.
Female Supervisor 17- 45 (For matriculate)
  • The candidate must have cleared his/her 10(+2) exams from an institute that is recognized or equivalent.
  • Matriculate: The candidates should have cleared their matriculate or Bal Sevika Training with either Hindi or Sanskrit as one of the subjects.
  • Graduate: The candidate should have completed his/her course from a university or institute that is recognized.
Staff Nurse 17- 42 The candidate should have a Diploma (GNM), B.Sc in Nursing/Post Basic Nursing) from an university or institute that has recognition.

HSSC Physical Requirements

Only recruitment in Haryana Police is carried out on the basis of physical measurements. The posts are for Constable and Sub-Inspector. The conditions are as follows:

For Police Constable (Males)

The physical standards required of the male candidates applying for Police Constable posts are given below.

For Police Constable (Females)

Female candidates applying for the posts of Police Constable are required to fulfill the following conditions.

The physical measurements for the post of Sub-Inspector are as follows.

Exceptions in the Eligibility Criteria

There are a few exceptions in the eligibility criteria for HSSC 2022. They are:

  • Only male candidates will be eligible to apply for the post of Sub-Inspector. Both males and females can apply for the other posts.
  • Candidates who are PwD are eligible for all other posts excluding the ones under Haryana Police, viz., Sub-Inspector, and Police Constable.
Exam Pattern

The exam will be held in four parts and each part will contain 25 questions. The total number of questions is therefore 100. Also, each part will carry 25 marks and so the total marks are 100 as well. The interview will carry a total of 25 marks.

Note:

  • For Constable Post: Questions will be of the same difficulty as 10(+2) board exams.
  • For Sub-Inspector Post: Questions will be of the same difficulty as the level of graduation.
