Eligibilty Criteria

 

To be eligible for IBPS RRB 2022 exam candidates must be:

  1. A National/Citizen of India or
  2. A subject of Nepal or
  3. A subject of Bhutan or
  4. A refugee from Tibet who came to India before January 1, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling here or
  5. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv), (v) and above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

IBPS RRB Eligibility Criteria 2022: Age Limit 

There is an upper and lower age limit set by IBPS for candidates who wish to appear for the IBPS RRB exam. The age limit varies according to the scale of the officers. The age limit set for general category candidates according to the posts is given below:

  1. For Officer Scale-III- The minimum age limit for such candidates is 21 years and the maximum age limit is 40 years. Candidates applying for officer Scale III should not have been born earlier than June 3, 1981, and not later than  May 31, 2001.
  2. For Officer Scale-II- The candidate must not be less than 21 years of age but he/she must be below 32 years. These candidates should not have been born earlier than June 3, 1989, and not later than May 31, 2001.
  3. For Officer Scale- I- If a candidate is applying for Officer Scale I, he/she must be above 18 years and the maximum age limit for such candidates is 30 years, so the candidate must not have been born earlier than June 3, 1992, and not later than May 31, 2004.
  4. For Office Assistant (Multipurpose)– A candidate can apply for this post if he/she ranges from 18 to 28 years of age. Such a candidate must not have been born earlier than June 2, 1994, and later than June 1, 2004.

IBPS RRB Eligibility Criteria 2022: Age Relaxation

Age relaxation is granted to reserved categories in terms of age by IBPS RRB 2022, a detailed table has been presented below:

Ex-Servicemen/ Disabled Ex-Servicemen (for the post of Office Assistants) The actual period of service rendered in the defense forces + 3 years (8 years for Disabled Ex-Servicemen belonging to SC/ST) subject to a maximum age limit of 50 years
For Ex-servicemen commissioned officers, including ECOs/ SSCOs, who have rendered at least 5 years’ military service 5 Years
Widows, Divorced women & women legally separated from their husbands who have not remarried (for the post of Office Assistants) 9 Years
Persons ordinarily domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period January 1, 1980 to December 31, 1989 5 Years
Persons affected by 1984 riots 5 Years
Exam Pattern

IBPS conducts a two-stage written test for Officer Scale-I and Office Assistant posts while for Officer Scale-II and III, there is only one written test.

Candidates applying for Officer level posts have to appear for an interview round before the final selection. There is no interview for Office Assistant.

  • The exams are online-based having multiple-choice questions.
  • There is a negative marking of one-fourth marks for each wrong answer.

Applicants must be aware of the IBPS RRB Exam Syllabus to prepare for the critical topics on the exam. The following is the syllabus for IBPS RRB 2022:

  • Quantitative Aptitude: Mensuration, Profit & Loss, Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Permutation & Combination, Simple Interest, Probability, and so on.
  • General Knowledge: Agriculture, Current Affairs, Awards & Honors, Indian Economic, International Economic, Budget, Sports, Shares, Finance, etc.
  • Logical Reasoning: Analogy, blood relations, coding-decoding, direction sense, figure series, odd man out, puzzles, syllogism, sitting arrangement, and so on are examples of reasoning sections.
  • English Language: Comprehensions, Cloze Test, Fill in the Blanks, Idioms and Phrases, Synonyms and Antonyms, and so on.
  • Computer Science: Computer History, MS Office, Number System, Operating Systems, Software, and Hardware, and so on.
