The IIAD Design Aptitude Test (iDAT) is a written test designed to assess a candidate’s creative and visual ability, cultural awareness and logical thinking. The exam paper is a combination of visual tasks, writing tasks, one-word answers and multiple choice questions. iDAT 2023 entrance exam syllabus consists of Logical Reasoning, Creative Thinking, and Problem-Solving topics. Eligibility Criteria
Students who have passed 10+2 in CBSE/ISC/IB or any other equivalent board are eligible and can apply for iDAT 2023. Candidates awaiting for Class XII results can also apply.
Candidates who have scored 70% and above aggregate in CBSE or IB or ISC or any other equivalent board are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Performance in iDAT, portfolio assessment, and studio simulation will also be considered for scholarship approval.
Lateral entry admissions are done if the student has done their previous year of course in any nationally or internationally recognized institutions. IIAD accepts applications for transfer to IIAD for the design program (in Fashion Design, Communication Design or Interior Architecture & Design) from students who completed previous year(s) of their degree in design or diploma program from a nationally or internationally recognized Design Institute.
Application Fee
An application fee of INR 2500 is to be paid when submitting the application form. After completing the application, candidates will receive an acknowledgment email from the admissions team with further pertinent proceedings.
Exam Pattern
The students must go through the exam pattern for any exam they are planning to attend. By going through the exam pattern, the applicants can get a better idea about the exam and start preparing accordingly. The iDAT exam pattern is as given below.

Counselling
Candidates should attend the counselling process soon after the declaration of iDAT 2023 results. Qualified candidates will be called for the counselling based on the merit list. The merit list is prepared based on the performance of candidates in the written test, personal interview, and portfolio assessment. They need to carry all the original documents for the process of verification.
Candidates who successfully qualified for the iDAT entrance test will be eligible to apply for the scholarship. The scholarship form will be available along with the offer letter.
iDAT Counselling Process 2023
The counselling process for iDAT 2023 is as given below. The counselling process begins after the announcement of the results.
- The merit list will be released after the declaration of results and the qualified students will be called for counselling.
- The students will be allotted seats for the courses they prefer based on the marks they have scored.
- The required documents for counselling must be submitted for verification by the selected students.
- The qualified students will be given admission after the verification of the documents and they must pay the admission fee after this.

Candidates can download the iDAT exam 2023 admit card on the official website of IIAD. Candidates should verify their admit cards to check whether all the details are accurate.
