Eligibilty Criteria
  • The SET has no upper age limit for applicants.
  • Candidates must hold a U.G.C.-recognized Master's Degree in a SET-related subject.
  • Candidates in the first year of a two-year Masters Course, the first two semesters of a four-semester Master's Degree course, or the fourth year of a five-year Integrated Masters Course are not eligible to take this test.
  • Candidates can only take the SET in the subject of their postgraduate degree, for example, commerce.
  • Candidates who have completed M.Sc. (by Research) are not eligible to take the SET, according to U.G.C. rules.
  • A candidate who has already met the MH SET 2022 Eligibility Criteria in a subject will not be permitted to take the SET in that subject again.
  • Candidates taking the MH SET 2022 must be Indian citizens.
Exam Pattern

The Maharashtra State Eligibility Test will be administered objectively. The exam is divided into two different papers.

  • Paper-I will be of a general nature, with the goal of assessing the candidate's teaching/research aptitude. It is primarily intended to assess the candidate's reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness. Paper I will consist of fifty (50) two-mark objective type compulsory questions.
  • Paper-II will consist of a hundred (100) objective type compulsory questions (except for mathematical science) based on the candidate's chosen subject. Each question will be awareded two points.

Paper I - This is a general paper designed to assess candidates' teaching abilities. Reasoning Ability, Comprehension, Divergent Thinking, and General Awareness are the major sections.

Paper II - The subject chosen by the candidate is the sole focus of Paper II. Except for Mathematical Science, candidates must attempt all of the questions from this section. There, all questions must be attempted from Sections I and II, or from Sections I and III only.
