Eligibilty Criteria

NHPC Educational Qualifications

There are different educational qualifications required for various NHPC posts. A candidate can obtain information about the educational qualification through the table shown below.

Post Educational Qualification
Junior Engineer Aspiring candidates must have a full-time Diploma from any recognized university in a relevant stream with B.E or B.Tech. The technical qualification (BE /B.tech) without the essential qualification is not eligible.
Apprenticeship Trainee The candidate must have cleared 10th with the ITI Certificate in the relevant field, ITI
Trainee Engineer, Trainee Officer The candidateChartered Accountant, Cost Accountant, Company Secretary, Degree, B.Sc
Senior Medical Officer MBBS Degree with valid registration
Assistant Rajbhasha Officer A candidate must hold a Master’s Degree from any recognized University in Hindi with English as an Elective Subject or a Master’s degree from any recognized Indian University in English with Hindi as an elective subject at the degree level.
Trade Apprentice The candidate must have cleared 10th with the ITI Certificate in the relevant field, ITI
GM Company Secretary The candidate must hold the CA/ CMA/ LLB
Graduate Apprentice Aspiring candidates must hold a graduation degree from any university recognized by the central government.

NHPC Age Limit 2022

There is a certain minimum and maximum age limit for a particular exam. There is also some relaxation provided about the age by NHPC for SC, ST, and OBC Candidates. The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC as well as ST candidates, 3years for OBC Candidates. The information on the maximum and minimum age is listed below.

Apprenticeship Trainee, The age of the aspiring candidate must be between 18 to 30 yrs.
Trainee Engineer, The maximum eligible age is 30 years.
Apprenticeship The age of the aspiring candidate must be between 18 to 30 yrs.
Senior Medical Officer, The maximum eligible age is 33 years.
Assistant Rajbhasha Officer The maximum eligible age is 35 years.
Trade Apprentice The age of the aspiring candidate must be between 18 to 30 yrs.
GM Company Secretary The maximum eligible age is 49 years.
Graduate Apprentice The age of the aspiring candidate must be between 18 to 30 yrs.
Exam Pattern

NHPC JE/Sr. Medical Officer and Sr. Accountant Exam Pattern

The duration of the exam will be 3 hours or 180 minutes. This examination will have three parts contains Part-I (which contains 140 MCQ of the concerned discipline), Part-II (which has 30 MCQ on General Awareness), and Part-III of 30 MCQ on Reasoning. There will be negative marking and 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer while 1 mark will be awarded for every correct answer.

NHPC Assistant Rajbhasa Officer Exam Pattern

The duration of the exam will be 3 hours or 180 minutes. This examination also consists of 3 parts Part-I (consists of 40 MCQ of the concerned discipline and 10 Descriptive Type questions. Part-II (consists of 30 MCQs on General Awareness) and Part III of 30 MCQs on Reasoning. There will be negative marking, and 1/4th of marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. However, on the other hand, 1 mark will be awarded for every correct answer.
