Dynamic candidates who want to become a part of RITES must fulfill the eligibility criteria as required by the company as below:

|Electrical Engineer||BE/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engineering) Degree in Electrical/Electrical & Electronics Engineering with minimum 2 years of working experience in one or more of Electrical engineering fields such as general|
|Mechanical Engineer||BE/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engineering) Degree in Mechanical/Production/ Industrial/ Automobile Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of working experience in Quality Assurance/production/manufacturing/maintenance & operations.|
All the candidates belonging to the General / EWS category and candidates belonging to the reserved category applying for unreserved posts must have at least 60% aggregate marks in their minimum qualifying degree and candidates applying for reserved posts must have at least 50% aggregate marks in their minimum qualifying degree.
All the applications received shall be screened and shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test. Based on the performance of candidates in the written test, they will be called for a personal interview.

The candidates will also have the option to choose the interview language i.e. Hindi / English.
The appointment of selected candidates is solely dependent upon their medical fitness fulfillment as per the company's policy.
The syllabus of the written test is not mentioned in the official notification by RITES, but it can be anticipated by analyzing previous years’ papers. The paper contains questions from 5 different subjects i.e. General English, General Knowledge, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, and concerned post related subject (i.e. Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering).
