Eligibilty Criteria

In order to be eligible to apply for various posts of RRB NTPC 2022, one must satisfy the academic eligibility criteria set by the authority. The RRB NTPC 2022 eligibility criteria include Nationality, Age and Educational Qualification. The applicants must go through the eligibility criteria in order to fill the application form and avoid rejection at any later stage.

The details of the eligibility criteria set by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) are given below:

RRB NTPC Nationality

A candidate must belong to the following nationalities:

  • An Indian citizen
  • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan
  • A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 to permanently settle in India
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with to permanently settle in India.

RRB NTPC Age Limit

  • The candidates who are applying for the Undergraduate Level posts (After Class XII) must be between 18 to 30 years of age.
  • The candidates applying for Graduate level posts must be between 18 to 33 years of age.
  • The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) offers relaxation to the candidates belonging to the reserved categories as per the Government’s norm.

RRB NTPC Educational Qualifications

The candidates who have passed class XII or have a graduate degree in any stream are eligible to apply for RRB NTPC 2022 exam.

However, the educational qualification for RRB NTPC 2022 exam varies depending on the posts. Tabulated below is a table briefly explaining the educational requirements for various RRB NTPC posts:

Commercial Cum Ticket Clerk 12th (+2 Stage) or equivalent with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate. 50% marks are not to be insisted upon in case of SC/ST / Persons with Benchmark Disability / Ex-servicemen and candidates who possess qualification higher than 12th (+2 stage)
Accounts Clerk Cum Typist 12th (+2 Stage) or equivalent with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate. 50% marks are not to be insisted upon in the case of SC/ST / Persons with Benchmark Disability / Ex-servicemen and candidates who possess qualifications higher than 12th (+2 stage). Typing proficiency in English / Hindi on the computer is essential.

The RRB NTPC recruitment process includes the following stages:

  • CBT 1
  • CBT 2
  • Skill Test/ Aptitude Test
  • Document Verification Process
  • Medical Examination

Further, the RRB NTPC 2022 written test is conducted in 2 stages:

  • Computer Based Test (CBT)-1
  • Computer Based Test (CBT)-2

RRB NTPC Exam Pattern: CBT-1

  • The authorities conduct the 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) for screening the aspirants.
  • The duration of the exam is 1.5 hours (90 minutes). For the PWD candidates, the duration of the exam is 120 Minutes.
  • There is a negative marking of 0.25 Marks for every wrong attempt question.
  • No marks are deducted if a question is left unanswered.

RRB NTPC Exam Pattern: CBT-2

  • The normalized score of RRB NTPC CBT-1 will be used for shortlisting the candidates for 2nd Stage CBT based on merit.
  • The level of difficulty of the questions in the exam varies depending on the levels of posts.
  • The duration of the exam is 1.5 Hrs (90 minutes).
  • There is a negative marking with 1/3 of the marks assigned to each question being deducted for every wrong answer.
