SLET is a state-level exam and is conducted by state-controlled bodies. Mostly, every state has its own body that conducts this exam. Candidates who aspire to become Assistant professors or Lecturer in State-owned institutions should take up these exams. These exams are conducted once a year. SLET Exams are conducted in state languages as well.

Latest Notification

The Assam SLET exam 2022 took place on March 13, 2022. Assam State Level Eligibility Test (Assam SLET) 2022 notification has been released by the SLET Commission, ASSAM (N.E.Region). The application form was released on November 11, 2021. Since then, applicants were able to download the Assam SLET application form on the Commission's official website.

Registration

All applicants should ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria before submitting an application. In order to appear in the SLET exam, candidates must submit the application via online mode. Exams, however, are conducted only offline. You can fill out the application form for the SLET exam by following the steps below.

SLET Registration Process

First, candidates need to register themselves on the official website of the exam. Candidates can follow the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: Visit the Official SLET Website of each state.

Step 2: Look for the notification displaying new registration. Click on it.

Step 3: Fill in all the necessary details in the registration form like Name, Father’s Name, Date of Birth, Contact number, Email Id, etc.

Step 4: Click on Submit and note down the system-generated registration ID and Password.

SLET Application Process

Candidates after registering themselves on the official website of the state must start filling out the application form. To do so, candidates should follow these steps:

Step 1: To register, candidates must go to the official website of their respective state's SLET Commission.

Step 2: Candidates should enter their personal information, qualifications, and work experience in the appropriate columns.

Step 3: In the bottom section of the application form, candidates must upload the necessary files such as digital photographs and scanned signatures in the format as prescribed.

Step 4: As soon as you have revised the information, click the Save and Next button.

Step 5: Afterward, candidates need to download a printout of the challan form.

Step 6: Once you enter your application number, you can review the application again.

You can print the application and the challan for payment of the fees by clicking on the Print option.

Step 7: The candidate must submit the challan and fees to the nearest bank as specified on the SLET website.

Documents Required for filling SLET application form 2022

To complete the SLET application form 2022, the following documents and files are required:

Scanned copy of education certificates
A signed and attested copy of Passport sized colored photograph (image size – 5-50kb)
The scanned signature (image size – 5-50kb)
Attested M.A/M.Sc./M.Com. degree certificates
Attested copy of SC/ST/OBC certificate
Certificates relating to PWDs, and EWSs (if applicable) must be attested by an authorized person.

Eligibility Criteria

The SLET Eligibility Criteria 2022 for each and every state has not been released yet. Till the release of the official notification, candidates can follow the eligibility criteria of the last year i.e. 2021. Not many changes are expected in the eligibility criteria so candidates can follow last year's data for the same.

Candidates need to fulfill the eligibility criteria for SLET to appear for the exam. The eligibility criteria have two components:

SLET Educational Qualifications

Candidates aspiring to become teachers upon the qualification of the SLET Examination should possess the following educational qualifications.

Required Marks in Master’s Degree:	Other Educational Aspected
General: Minimum 55% OBC, SC, ST, PWD- at least 50% marks.	Candidates who are appearing (Final year) in their Master's Degree examination can also apply for SET. Those postgraduate students who have passed the postgraduate examination in more than one subject can appear for the SLET examination only in one subject at a time.

Note: There is no age limit.

SLET Overall Eligibility Criteria 2022

Prior to applying for the post, candidates must thoroughly understand the SLET eligibility criteria. Various SLET notifications are to be released for a number of posts this year. Candidates can check other important eligibility information from the table below:

Application Fee

Applicants can use any payment method, such as credit/debit cards, net banking, etc. For future reference, candidates can take a printout of the payment receipt and the SLET application form.

Candidates are required to pay the application fee to submit their application form in the last step. There are different application fees for candidates of different categories.

SLET Paper 1 Syllabus 2022

Paper 1 is compulsory for all candidates. Candidates are assessed primarily on their teaching and research capabilities. The test also measures teaching and research skills. Candidates are expected to exhibit cognitive skills, such as comprehension, analysis, evaluation, knowledge of argument structure, as well as inductive and deductive reasoning. Candidates are also expected to have a general understanding of higher education.
