SSC CGL Age Limit 2022- Post-wise

The post-wise SSC CGL age limit for the exam is given below in the table.

  • Aspirants applying for SSC CGL must not be less than 18 years and cannot be more than 32 years of age (as of August 1, 2022).
  • The lower and upper limit of age varies for each post.
  • The age of candidates as mentioned in the 10th/12th certificate will be considered.

SSC CGL Age Relaxation

SSC offers a provision of age relaxation for candidates from all reserved categories. Candidates must keep in mind the age limit before filling out the SSC CGL Application Form. Relaxation of the upper age limit for the various categories is shown in the table below.

SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria 2022: Nationality

SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria as per nationality mandates a candidate to be a resident of the prescribed countries only. An applicant must fulfill any one of the following conditions.

  1. The aspirant must be an Indian citizen.
  2. The candidates can be a subject of Nepal/Bhutan.
  3. The aspirants are allowed to be Tibetan refugees who moved to India, before 1962, with the intention of settling down permanently in India.
  4. The applicant must be of Indian Origin and has moved to India from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, or East African Countries like Uganda, Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly known as Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Malawi, Zambia, Ethiopia, Zaire, and Vietnam with the intention of settling down permanently in India.

SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria 2022: Educational Qualification

Candidates must check the SSC exam qualification details for the post. To appear in the exam, the aspirants should complete their graduation from any renowned Institution/ University. More specifically, a Bachelor’s degree in any program is eligible to appear for the entrance test. Apart from this, the candidates should study either in Mathematics/ Statistics/ Economics as an elective subject or as a compulsory subject.

There are some desirable qualifications too mentioned for certain posts. The candidates having them will be given preference. All the academic requirements corresponding to the different posts are given below.

Statistical Investigator Grade-II Posts

Basic Qualification: The candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with Statistics as one of the subjects from a recognized university or institute. They must have studied Statistics as one of the subjects for all the three years or all the 6 semesters of the graduation course.

with at least 60% in Mathematics at Higher Secondary (12th or equivalent) level or any bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or institute with statistics as one of the subjects at the degree level.

Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer Posts

Basic Qualification: The candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or institute

Desirable Qualification: Cost & Management Accountant/ Chartered Accountant/ Company Secretary/ Masters in Commerce/ Masters in Business Studies/ Masters in Business Administration (Finance)/ Masters in Business Economics.

The selected candidates will be under probation. During the period of probation, they will have to take and clear the ‘Subordinate Audit/ Accounts Service Examination’ in their respective branches for the confirmation and regular appointment as Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer.

Compiler Posts

Basic Qualification: The candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree from any recognized university or institution. Additionally, candidates must have studied either Economics or Statistics or Mathematics as a compulsory or elective subject.

Assistant Section Officer Posts

Basic Qualification: The applicant must have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute.

Desirable Qualification: In addition to the basic Undergraduate Degree, candidates must also qualify in the Computer Proficiency Test.

Junior Statistical Officer Posts

Basic Qualification: The candidates can have a Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute. They must have scored at least 60% marks in Mathematics in Class 12 or equivalent.

OR

They can have a Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at the degree level.

Assistant in National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) Posts

Basic Qualification: The applying candidates shall have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University Institute.

Desirable Qualification: A degree in law from a recognized university.

Research Assistant in National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Posts

Basic Qualifications: All the candidates shall have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute.

Desirable Qualifications: 1. Experience of at least 1 year in research in any recognized university or research institute.

  1. A degree in Law or Human Rights from a recognized university.

All Other SSC CGL Posts

Basic Qualifications: The applying candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute.

OR

They must have an equivalent qualification (relevant to the post) from a recognized university or institution.

SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Pattern 2022

SSC CGL Tier 1 is a qualifying level exam conducted in online mode. The necessary details for SSC CGL Tier 1 exam are given below.

  • The questions will be available in both English and Hindi (except for the English Language section).
  • There will be a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.

SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Pattern 2022

SSC CGL Tier 2 is conducted in online mode. Only those candidates who qualify Tier 1 exam can appear for the Tier 2 exam.

  • There are four papers and the questions are of MCQ type.
  • The question papers, except for English Language and Comprehension, will be set in both English and Hindi languages.
  • Paper-II i.e. English Language and Comprehension paper will have a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
  • Rest of the three papers i.e. Paper I, III, and IV (Quantitative Abilities, Statistics, General Studies) will have 0.50 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Paper I and II are compulsory for all the posts.
  • Paper III is only for the candidates who have applied for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and Statistical Investigator Grade II in the office of Registrar General of India (Ministry of Home Affairs).
  • Paper IV is only for those candidates who have applied for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer or Assistant Accounts Officer.

SSC CGL Tier 3 Exam Pattern 2022

The SSC CGL Tier 3 exam is conducted offline. The exam pattern of SSC CGL Tier 3 is given below.

  • The paper must be written in either English or Hindi. If any candidate writes part of the paper in Hindi and the other part in English, the answer sheet will not be checked. The candidate will be awarded zero marks.
