SSC GD is the department that is responsible for recruiting candidates for Constable and Riflemen posts. The full form of SSC GD is Staff Selection Commission General Duty.

Latest Notification

SSC GD Notification 2022 will tentatively release on February 22, 2023. It will contain detailed information about eligibility, exam dates, and vacancies. In 2021, the Commission announced a vacancy of 25,271 posts. A similar number of vacancies can be expected this year.

How to Apply Online for SSC GD Constable?

The SSC GD application form 2022 is released on the official website;
Those candidates willing to apply can apply online;
Visit the official website of the authority conducting the examination;
Go through the instructions prior to filling in the application form;
Fill in the required details;
Those candidates belonging to Jammu and Kashmir, the North Eastern States and the LWE can avail of the application form both via online and offline modes;
Candidates can submit the application fee via credit card/debit card/ Net banking/ SBI Challan etc.

Eligibility Criteria

For the post of general duty constable, the basic eligibility criteria include educational qualification and age limit. The detailed SSC GD eligibility criteria have been mentioned below :

Nationality: The candidate should be a citizen of India
Age Limit: The candidate must be of age between 18 and 23
Educational Qualification: Candidate must have cleared Class 10th from a recognized board. Candidates appearing for the Class 10th exam are not eligible

Application Fee

SSC GD Constable 2021 application fee for the male candidates is Rs 100 which is to be paid during the application process. However, women/SC/ST/PwD/ESM candidates are exempted from payment of application fees.

The computer-based exam will consist of four different subjects. (General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge & General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics, and English/Hindi)
There will be 100 questions in the exam for a total of 100 marks.
Each question will carry +1 mark.
There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
The exam will be conducted in both Hindi and English languages.
The candidates who clear this stage will be selected for the PMT PST.

SSC GD Constable Physical Standards Test

The candidates who are looking forward to the SSC GD Constable recruitment have to make sure that they meet the required measurements for the Physical Standards Test. The Physical Standards Test will be the first stage of the selection process. Check the details below.

SSC GD Constable Physical Efficiency Test

The candidates who clear the PST will be called for the Physical Efficiency Test. In this stage, both the male and female candidates will be put to a test. The board will test if they’re fit enough for the post by conducting a running race. The details of the test are as follows.

SSC GD Constable Medical Test

The candidates who qualify the PST PMT will be called up for the medical test. The candidates who fail the medical test will not be considered eligible for the post. The document verification of candidates will also be done in this stage. Once the candidates are declared clear, they will be considered eligible for the post.
