West Bengal Constable recruitment notification has been released for 2266 vacancies. The recruitment will take place for constables and lady constables in Kolkata Police. The application forms are live on the official website till June 27, 2022.
The West Bengal Police Recruitment Board (WBPRB) will be overlooking all activities regarding the same. Every year the Board organizes State-wide examinations for the post of Constable (Male) in WBP. Candidates who have cleared their Madhyamik exam will be eligible for this post. Unlike many other government exams, application forms for West Bengal Police Constable are accepted in online and offline modes. So, more and more aspirants apply coming from the remote parts of West Bengal where internet access is limited.
The WBPRB has uniquely designed the application process for West Bengal Police Constable exam to accept online as well as offline submission of the application forms. For the help of candidates in the application procedure, Sahaj Mitra Kendras have been set up across the state.

It is advisable to download, save and print out a copy of the submitted application form. A unique Application Serial Number will be generated which must be kept carefully for future reference.
Candidates can approach their nearest Sahaj Mitra Kendra to fill up their online form. The attending staff will help them with the process. They will scan and upload the necessary documents. It is to be kept in mind that no changes will be allowed after the final submission of the form, so, all details provided must be cross-checked and confirmed.
Candidates submitting the application form in offline mode can carry out the process on their own or go to a Sahaj Mitra Kendra.

Gender: Recruitment for the post of Constable in West Bengal Police requires Male candidates only.
Academic qualification: Candidates can apply for the post if they have successfully passed the Madhyamik exam from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) or the Class 10 final examination from any nationally acclaimed Board.
Language: The candidate must be well versed in the Bengali language, i.e. he must be able to read, speak and write Bengali. However, this criterion may not be applicable to residents of the hilly sub-districts of Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts. Provisions laid down in West Bengal Official Language Act, 1961 will be applicable to them.
NVF, Home Guard personnel & Civic Volunteers: These Sahayak workers serving in West Bengal Police can also apply if they have completed 3 years in their service.
Age Limit: The minimum age limit is 18 and the upper limit is 27 years, but reserved category candidates are given some relaxation in the upper age limit.
