IIT Delhi has 11 hostels for male students, one for each year. Each hostel has a capacity of 276 students and is equipped with single and double-bedded rooms. The hostels are well-maintained and have all the necessary facilities, including a mess, a library, a gym, and a common room.
Students are allotted rooms on the basis of their permanent addresses and sorted distance wise. The outside Delhi candidates are thus given top priority. However, most students who apply for a hostel room are able to get one as soon as possible.
The hostels are located close to the academic buildings and the canteens. The mess food is nutritious and has a different menu for each day of the week. The hostels also have 24 hours water supply and power backup available. A parking lot is located outside each hostel for the convenience of students.
