The Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) is driven by the dream of serving under-served segments of the economy through professional management. Founded in 1979, IRMA is focused on creating management professionals who can bring about sustainable, ecologically-friendly and equitable growth by applying their management acumen at the grassroots level and influencing the public policy narrative at the national and global levels.

Dr. Verghese Kurien, known as the ‘Father of the White Revolution in India’, founded IRMA at Anand, Gujarat with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation (SDC), the Government of India, Government of Gujarat, the erstwhile Indian Dairy Corporation and the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB).

IRMA is a premier institution of professional learning offering Management programmes with a focus on understanding real management problems and socio-economic realities of under-served communities through intensive fieldwork. Experienced faculty members from reputed national and international institutions collaborate to inspire and create the thinkers of tomorrow for a better world. IRMA offers world-class infrastructure for learning at their 60-acre-green campus.

Training & Internships

The Summer Internship Segment (SIS) is a nine-week internship program held from June through August. The SIS seeks to provide students with the chance to engage directly with seasoned management experts from various industries. Students obtain practical skills and a realistic understanding of rural organization management and development activities.

A total of 252 students were placed by 113 recruiters. Amul, Godrej, ITC, Airtel, KPMG, PwC, DBS, Nestle, TVS, among others extended 391 offers. The key highlights of IRMA Anand summer placements 2021 are mentioned below.

Scholarships

IRMA Anand aims to serve under-served aspects of the economy with professional and impactful management. The students are offered an Institute of Rural Management Anand scholarship to assist their growth and recover their financial instability. Further details about the IRMA Anand scholarship are given below.

IRMA Merit-based Scholarship: IRMA Anand has offered 20 merit-based scholarships worth Rs. 1.17 crore for the students of the 42nd batch (2021-23) of its flagship PGDM(RM). The IRMA Anand reserves ten scholarships exclusively to female aspirants applying for the college. The scholarship amount will be up to 50% of the tuition fee, and the scholarship in the first year is based on the overall selection merit of IRMA’s admissions process. It is awarded based on the academic performance the second year will be awarded based on the academic performance, i.e. CGPA of the first year at IRMA.
Mirae Asset Foundation Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to two deserving candidates of the flagship Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Rural Management) year.
IDFC FIRST Bank Flagship MBA Scholarship: The Institute of Rural Management Anand scholarship is offered to deserving students for the entire Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Rural Management) section.
SC Scholarship: The IRMA Anand scholarship was introduced to cover the entire cost of education of SC candidates at There are four scholarships allotted by The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India to IRMA for SC students covering tuition fees, non-refundable charges, lodging and boarding expenses, cost of books, stationery, and a personal computer.)
ST Scholarship: The Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, has allocated five scholarships for ST candidates. The amount of the scholarship covers tuition fees, boarding, lodging expenses, a book grant, and a one-time grant to purchase a personal computer (www.tribal.nic.in).
Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) Scheme: The tuition fee waiver scheme is applied per the AICTE rules available at IRMA. The number of scholarships and Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) schemes is based on year-to-year sanctions or approval from the concerned authorities.

Mohit Dave is an alumnus of IRMA. He started his career in rural management and allied disciplines with the State Bank of India under its Youth for India (YFI) fellowship program. Mohit went on to pursue the two-year PGDM (RM) program from IRMA (2015-17). He coordinated exciting assignments such as the annual alumni reunion (Milaap 2016), the first social entrepreneurship mission to Singapore (SIF YSE 2016) and TEDx event. He was recently selected for the ‘Anubhav’ program which is the flagship lecture series of the Harris School of Public Policy in India. His work also includes compiling case studies on the contribution of cooperatives to SDGs, data mapping, studying legal frameworks, and conducting thematic research on various aspects of cooperatives in the region.
