Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) is a private deemed university located in Manipal, India. The university also has campuses in Mangalore, Bangalore, Malacca and Dubai. As of 2021, Manipal offers more than 350 programs across 30 disciplines and ranks 7th among Indian universities.
In 1953, Dr. T. M. A. Pai founded India's first private medical school, the Kasturba Medical College and five years later the Manipal Institute of Technology was established. Initially, degrees were awarded by Karnataka University, Dharwad and later by the University of Mysore. From 1980 to 1993 they were awarded by Mangalore University. The current organizational structure was formed in 1993, when Kasturba Medical College and Manipal College of Dental Sciences were accorded deemed university status by UGC. Manipal Institute of Technology became a constituent unit of Manipal Academy of Higher Education in 2000.
The campus at Manipal covers 600 acres (2.4 km2)[5] of land and is centered in the university town of Manipal. It is divided into the health sciences campus and the MIT campus. The campus has a large library, an indoor sports complex and a museum.

The Manipal Academy of Higher Education Technology Business Incubator (MUTBI) offers the way ahead for them by providing the environment, infrastructural support and critical mentoring during the first three years of setting up a new venture.
MUTBI was established in 2010, and is one of the 54 TBIs funded by
the National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB),
Department of Science & Technology (DST),
Government of India to promote innovation-driven start-ups in the Udupi District.
Faculty Development Program at BoP, Manipal Academy of Higher Education.
Collaborations are useful in augmenting the expertise of faculty so that they are geared to meet the challenges of a hyper-connected world.
A two-week Faculty Development Program (FDP) at BoP, Manipal in December 2012 at the Manipal Centre for Information Sciences (MCIS) promoted the idea of mentoring in technical institutes to encourage entrepreneurial talent.
The program was sponsored by
the National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB),
a constituent body of the Department of Science and Technology (DST),
Government of India and focussed on the role of teachers as mentors.
Training on Android Applications by Philips in October 2012 at the Wireless Lab, SIS.
Technology sessions were held for postgraduate students from SIS with the objective of providing an insight into Android tools and program development on the Android platform.
It empowered the students to acquire skills that enhanced their employability with technology companies.

Hostel 5 and 6 for boys and hostel 1,2,3 and 7 for girls will make u feel the actual hostel life in MIT for 1st years.It costs around 98,000 Rs.per year for Non AC hostels and goes upto 1,65,000 for AC depending on whether you take single room or sharing. The new hostel blocks like 16,17 and 20 are way more far than these hostels and academic blocks. So,if u come to MIT choose the 1st 2 lines hostels accordingly. The Weather is very cool here so no need to worry about heat.You will feel a little more hear during days but at nights,it gets cold. Every night ,you have to enter within 10 pm at night for 1st years and do the biometric after coming to hostel. The food court is near to blocks 1,2,3 5,6 and 7 Food quality of MIT is eay much much better than other hostels na dyou will love it I am damm sure.So,overall you will not feel any problem after coming to MIT and your parents will also be satisfied with these facilities and accommodations.
Hostel is well equipped and furnished, wifi is available 24*7. Hostel is comfortable for both girls and boys
