Tips to prepare for UG Engineering entrance exam
“Impossible, only means you haven’t done it before”. Most of the students face difficulty in clearing the UG Engineering entrance exams. Engineering is the word derived from the Latin word, Ingenium which itself means ‘cleverness’. Becoming an engineer defines how creative you are & also it checks your ability, on how you put forth your imagination into action. To become an engineer one has to clear the UG Engineering entrance exams, to get admission to the engineering colleges. Clearing any of the entrance exams is not easy but not even impossible. You get what you work for not what you wish for; until you work for dreams you won’t be able to achieve it, the only thing you can do is just sit & a dream. Here are some tips on how to clear the UG Engineering entrance exam very easily:
Study material
There are different study materials for preparing the theory & practical based questions. You should be very careful while choosing the study material for specific subjects. NCERT Books are the best for clearing the theory concepts for the subjects- Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry. The books which you can refer to problem-solving for specific subjects are:
Mathematics

Physics

- Fundamentals of physics by Halliday
Chemistry

Referring to Indian authors would be best for mains as the language used by these authors is simple & easy to understand.
Scoring subjects
Every subject has about 20 topics each. Studying all the topics thoroughly is not possible. In these 20 topics per subject, there are few topics that are very easy to understand & remember. Learn such topics thoroughly; you should be that perfect any question asked on those topics you should be able to answer.
Topics of XI standard are all easy as they are the basic topics. Now the selection of the easy topics may vary from student to student. Start from the easiest topics & complete with the difficult ones. Make sure you won’t drop any of the topics.
Mock test
Mock tests help you to self evaluate. There is an online mock test that you can take up after every single topic or after completing a section- the whole of organic chemistry, physical chemistry, etc. Mock tests are also been conducted after you complete your XI class. The importance of the mock tests is that you can evaluate yourself, how much you have understood the concepts & how much you still need to work on a particular subject. The more you attend the mock tests the more you are through with the concepts, paper pattern & also you can train your brain for the main examination.
Sample papers
Solving sample papers is the way to carry out revision. Sample papers help you to understand the marking scheme, which further helps you to estimate how much to concentrate on a topic. You get an idea of how to solve the questions & also learn time management. Students also get to know about the set of repeating questions & the type of questions asked. This will make your learning more easily. Sample papers will help students to score better in the final examination.
Say no
Most of the time you yourself might have noticed that there are thoughts wandering & you lose your conscious mind. You are distracted. Learn to say no because once your distracted it is impossible to re-focus. Ask your mind not to think about any random things & then slowly bring your thoughts back to studies. Initially, you have to this many times but practice will help you to focus longer on studies.
Build-in variety
Building in a variety means to find out new ways to learn. The time table should be different for each day. This will not make you feel bored & you will be actively studying. Alternate reading keeps your brain active as you can go for mind mapping or model answering. Take breaks when you are switching between the subjects. Do meditation, yoga & exercises which will keep you healthy & fresh. These will help you to concentrate & stick to studies for long hours without being bored. Go for outdoor as well as indoor games. Stays hydrated & eat healthy food. Never disturb your sleep cycle.

Stay patient & trust your journey. Always have faith in your hard work. Keep a healthy environment with positive vibes around yourself. Go for mediation to have peace of mind. Never stop believing in your strengths.
