    About
    Assam Down Town University (ADTU) was set up in the year 2010 with the aim of providing quality education to North East students at an affordable price. The university is recognized by All India Council for Technical Education, University Grants Commission, Pharmacy Council of India, Indian Association of Physiotherapy, and Indian Nursing Council. The university has more than 8000+ students and 250+ faculty members

     

    It offers more than 60 courses in UG, PG, Ph.D. courses in various fields like Management, Nursing, Pharmacy, Science, Arts, Engineering, Nursing, Paramedical, Hospitality, Allied Health Sciences, etc. Apart from these, there are also Diploma and certification courses. The university has a word-class infrastructure and provides good placement opportunities.

    ADTU recorded 90% placements in the year 2021. The highest CTC offered was INR 25 LPA, while the average package was INR 4 LPA.     ADTU Guwahati Scholarship

    The following scholarships have been made available to the candidates of the Assam Down Town University:
    • Admission Scholarship: This scholarship is offered to the meritorious students based on the scores obtained by them in SEBA/CBSE/ISC etc. examinations. This scholarship is provided through a percentage discount on the semester fees.
    • Result Scholarship: This scholarship is offered to the top scorers of the annual or semester examinations of the university. Under this scholarship, the semester fees of the student can get reduced to a maximum of 50%.
    • Merit Scholarship: This scholarship is offered to those meritorious students who are from economically backward families. A special committee is set by the university to decide the percentage of deduction (up to 100%) to be imposed on the semester fees.
    • Sports and Extra-Curricular Scholarship: The University has arranged scholarship programs for the meritorious sportspersons as well.

    Medical Facilities

    The students are also provided with proper medical facilities to address their immediate and urgent medical requirements. They have a world-class Multispecialty Down Town Hospital within the campus that endows all the modern facilities and has 300 beds. The students can easily get General Medicine, CT Scan, MRI, ECG, X-Ray, ICU, Trauma Centre and Laboratory investigation when required. This ensures that the university can deal with emergency cases at the utmost priority and can also assist students with general facilities of medication.

    Separate Hostels for Boys with furnished rooms, Wi-Fi network internet connection and round the clock power backup is available on University Campus for almost 1000 students. Every care has been taken to ensure the availability of nutritious vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, safe drinking water, round the clock water supply etc. Hostel rooms are allotted on first come-first serve basis and subject to availability. Provision for primary medical attention and first aid has been made in the hostels. For a medical emergency, ambulance facility is available in the campus on around the clock basis.

    Placement
    Assam Down Town University is a massive 50-acre campus located 6 kilometers away from Guwahati closely connected to nature. The University has its own Training and Placement Cell which serves the purpose of assisting students in attaining placements. Students are prepared for the job markets through effective training programs based on communication skills and personality development. The University ensures students reach their utmost potential with constant support from the University to get placed. Assam Down Town University conducts frequent tests based on Aptitude, Quantitative Ability, and Logical Reasoning. Read more about the detailed placement procedure mentioned below.

     

    • Stage 1: The Training and Placement cell prepares an annexure and forwards it to potential recruiters. Interested recruiters submit the annexure to University with necessary information.

     

    • Stage 2: The Training and Placements cell sets a date for campus interviews. They send a notice to students regarding eligibility criterias and salary packages offered by the companies.

     

    • Stage 3: Students are required to qualify an exam which tests them based on Aptitude, Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning, English Proficiency, and more, after which they can appear for the interview.

     

    • Stage 4: Students are then set for the round of Group Discussion (GD) which tests their communication skills, critical thinking ability, problem solving skills, presentation skills, and personality. They further proceed for technical round and HR round, where they are tested based on their field knowledge and potentiality.

     

    • Stage 5: Students that qualify the exam, GD round, technical round, and HR round are selected for the job. Job offer letters are provided to selected students on the same day or in the next few days through the Training and Placement Cell.

    AdtU Signed a MoU with north Eastern Tea Association

    A Memorandum of Understanding between Assam down town University and North Eastern Tea Association was signed on 5th February, 2021 at Assam down town University campus for research and academic collaborations. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Dr. N.C Talukdar, Vice Chancellor for Assam down town University and Mr. Sunil Jallan, Chairman for North Eastern Tea Association. Through this MoU both the institutions agreed to undertake Research & Project works in Tea Research and emerging areas with local relevance by the students/scholars and faculty members of the College/University and organize Tea related National and International seminars, workshops, conference, symposiums and competitions from time to time. The tenure of the MoU will be for three years. Dr. N.C Talukdar, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Bandana Dutta, Dean of Studies, Mr. Joutishman Dutta, Managing Trustee, Dr. Sunandan Baruah, Dean, Faculty of Engineering & Technology & Dean Research, Mr. Bhabajyoti Saikia, OSD to the Vice Chancellor, Mr. Nishan Kakati, Research Coordinator, Mr. Mithuraj Bhuyan and Mr. Arnab Sarkar attended the MoU signing ceremony from Assam down town University.     The signing ceremony was started with a warm welcome speech by Dr. N.C Talukdar, Vice Chancellor who gave a brief appraisal of the University and the currently ongoing research activities, future programs and the scope of collaboration in research, innovation and outreach with NETA. He especially mentioned about the growth in the area of Pharmaceutical Science and life sciences in the North East Region. Mr. Sunil Jallan, Chairman, North Eastern Tea Association gave a brief presentation about the Association which was formed.
    in 1981, with the objective of working for the all-round development and interest of the tea industry. Assessing both economic and techno viability along with MRL, he urged the young researchers of both the institutions to think creatively and to come up with a big and radical, innovative ideas which can be submitted in form of a project to extramural funding agencies.
