Who conducts it?

The Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test is conducted by the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University once every year in the month of April or May. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the exam dates have been postponed and the new dates are yet to be announced.

Who is it for?

The IPU CET is conducted for admission into various courses such as medicine, engineering, dental studies, law, business, and management. The Common Entrance Test also provides admission into other courses for both undergraduate students as well as Postgraduate students such as BBA, B.Com. etc. Every year thousands of students apply and appear for the IPU CET to try and gain admission into the various UG and PG courses. The application process for the IPU CET is online and through their website. Students must read every instruction carefully and make sure they are providing everything that has been asked for, before submitting their application.

Eligibility Criteria

Since there are many different programs and courses offered when a student appears for the IPU CET, the eligibility criteria differ. However, there are a few things that the students need to keep in mind while applying for the common entrance test. Some of these things are their nationality, aggregate percentage, or CGPA in 12th standard and aggregate percentage or CGPA in their 10th For the IPU CET, students need to be of Indian nationality. If applying for an undergraduate program, the student must be 12th standard qualified or have an equivalent education proof. If the student is applying for a post-graduate program, then the student should have a graduation degree.

Preparation

Find the IPU CET entrance exam, the students need not worry much as it is an exam of moderate difficulty and can be easily passed by studying just the way you study for your board exams. Students must study rigorously by preparing a timetable and following it, they should divide their time equally between various subjects according to the course they are applying for. Usually, NCERT textbooks are enough for the preparation of this common entrance test, however, students must also practice various question papers and mock papers to understand the pattern of the question paper, how they can score better, to understand their mistakes and try not to repeat it again.

Date and Duration

he IPU common entrance test is conducted in the month of April or May every year for students seeking admission into the numerous colleges under the scheme. The duration of the exam is 2 and 1/2 hours in which various abilities of the students will be tested in their respective fields. The paper comprises of 100 questions and each question which will add 4 marks for a correct answer and deduct one mark for the wrong answer. The IPU CET can be attended both offline and online but there are no multiple language options available for this entrance test and it is mandatory for students to write it only in English.

Courses Available

The various courses available after clearing the Indraprastha University common entrance test are courses such as engineering available in different specializations such as mechanical, civil, information technology, computer science, electronics and communication, other courses include – medicine, law, business, accountancy, economics, management, architecture courses. Therefore, it is safe to say that students have plenty of options to choose from and must make a decision wisely.

Cut-Off

The cut-off for IPU CET differs from course to course and the class of the students. The IPU CET does not consider the marks of 10th and 12th for students seeking admission into various colleges affiliated under Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. However, the students must score an aggregate of a certain percentage in their board exams to even appear for the exam. For example, for engineering institutes, the students must have a total of 55 percent more in their physics, chemistry, mathematics board results. To achieve such a result students must work hard for both the board exam as well as the common entrance exam.
