The most popular competitive exam for engineering aspirants is the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) which is conducted every year by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The entrance exam is conducted for selecting students for B.E/ B.Tech , B.Arch/ B. Planning courses at NITs, IITs, IIITs, and various other private and state government engineering institutions.

Exam Structure
- JEE examination is divided into two stages MAINS & ADVANCE for admission into engineering courses , on the other hand for architecture course there is only one exam i.e JEE MAINS Paper 2 qualifying which students can sit in counselling for admission.
- JEE MAINS Paper 1 is for admission into engineering courses at various NIT’s , Private institutions and institutes under PPP model.
- After qualifying JEE MAINS students become eligible to give the JEE ADVANCE examination, which is for admission into Indian Institute of Technology and IIsc.
- According to new guidelines the Paper 2 earlier used to be a common exam for B.arch and B.planning but now a Paper 3 is introduced special for B planning aspirants.
- The Paper 2 in JEE is for architecture and planning aspirants for admission into various architecture and design institutes including some NIT’S AND IIT’S as well. There is no advance examination for these students. Only a single exam is there for selection.

- JEE (Mains) Paper 1 is an objective type examination, which include MCQ and numerical value answer questions.

Exam Eligibility and Special Instructions
- A candidate must have passed XII/equivalent examination with Physics,Chemistry & Mathematics as subject.
- There is no age limit for the exam,The candidates who have passed class 12th / equivalent examination in 2018, 2019 or appearing in 2020 irrespective of their age can appear in JEE (Main) examination.
- The exam is held twice a year, Candidates are allowed to give both the exams for a year and the best of the two scores would be counted.
- Candidates applying under OBC/SC/ST/Pwd category need to have an valid category certificate in the format prescribed by NTA in the information bulletin.
Application Instructions
- The application form for the NTA JEE is online based and payment is also deducted from online mode.
- Prerequisite for filling form.
- A computer with good Internet connectivity
- All your qualification details
- Scanned clear passport photograph in JPG/JPEG format (size between 10 kb–200 kb)
- Scanned clear signature in JPG/JPEG format (size between 4 kb–30 kb)
- Scanned clear class 12th
- or equivalent Admit card/Mark sheet/Score Card (size between 50kb-500kb).
- A valid e-mail Id as all communication will be made on this e-mail Id.
- A valid mobile number as all information via SMS will be sent to this number
- A valid debit/credit card or Net banking account or UPI or PAYTM Service.
- A printer connected to your system to print confirmation page
- Candidates are requested to take print out of form and confirmation page for future need.
- Students who are unfamiliar with the CBT method can register for a test practice center also for a mock test to understand the process and avoid confusion.
- There is an online mock test facility available at the portal in case students want to attempt using their own laptop/computer from home.
