Reservation

The reservation policy for AAU VET (Assam Agricultural University Veterinary Entrance Test) is as follows:

For Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc & AH) Course:
a. Scheduled Castes (SC) - 7%
b. Scheduled Tribes (Plain) (STP) - 10%
c. Scheduled Tribes (Hills) (STH) - 5%
d. Other Backward Classes (OBC/MOBC) - 15%
e. Economically Weaker Section (EWS) - 10%

For Master of Veterinary Science (M.V.Sc) Course:a. Scheduled Castes (SC) - 7%

Counselling

Candidates who will qualify AAU VET 2025 will be called for counseling by AAU. Candidates whose names will appear on the merit list will be eligible to attend the AAU VET 2025 Counselling. The documents that candidates need to carry on the day of counseling are as follows:

Mark sheet and certificate of 10+2
Permanent resident certificate of Assam
Category certificate (if applicable)
AAU VET 2025 Admit Card
AAU VET 2025 Scorecard
Passport size photographs

The final admission will be on the basis of the merit of candidates, reservation policy, and availability of seats.

Physics: Physical world and measurement, kinematics, laws of motion, work, energy, and power, motion of a system of particles and rigid body, gravitation, properties of bulk matter, thermodynamics, behavior of perfect gas and kinetic theory, oscillations and waves, etc.
Chemistry: Some basic concepts of chemistry, structure of atom, classification of elements and periodicity in properties, chemical bonding and molecular structure, states of matter: gases and liquids, thermodynamics, equilibrium, redox reactions, hydrogen, s-block elements, etc.
Biology: Diversity in living world, structural organization in animals and plants, cell structure and function, plant physiology, human physiology, genetics and evolution, biology and human welfare, ecology and environment, etc.

Exam

Eligibilty Criteria

The eligibility criteria for AAU VET (Assam Agricultural University Veterinary Entrance Test) are as follows:

For Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc & AH) Course:

Candidates should have completed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board or university with Physics,
Chemistry, Biology, and English as core subjects.
Candidates should have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
Candidates should be at least 17 years old as of December 31 of the year of admission.
Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.

For Master of Veterinary Science (M.V.Sc) Course:

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science or equivalent from a recognized university.
Candidates should have secured a minimum of 6.00/10.00 or equivalent OGPA (5.50/10.00 or equivalent OGPA for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
Candidates should have completed a compulsory rotating internship of one year in a recognized Veterinary College.
Candidates who are appearing for the final year of their Bachelor’s degree examination are also eligible to apply.

Exam Pattern

The AAU VET 2025 exam will be conducted offline in a pen and paper-based format. The duration of the exam will be 2 hours. The question paper will consist of multiple-choice questions, with a total of 150 questions divided into 3 sections - Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The question paper will be available only in English. For every correct answer, candidates will be awarded 1 mark, while for every incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted as negative marking. The total marks for the exam will be 150.
