After being the overall champions at the 39th AIU Inter-University North Zone Youth Festival (UNIFEST) 2025–26 earlier this year, CU has now emerged as Champions in various categories at the national level.
This national-level youth fest, held at the Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology (Chennai), witnessed participation students from 142 universities spread across eight zones in India. Having qualified from the North Zone, Chandigarh University students continued to compete and showcase their skills in 28 cultural events and categories across music, dance, fine arts and literary events.

Mohali, February 19: Marking a historic step in positioning Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a driving force for innovation, entrepreneurship and inclusive national development while further strengthening India’s emergence as a rapidly rising global AI hub, Chandigarh University organized India’s first ‘AI Fest - 2026’ on the sidelines of the India AI Impact Summit – 2026 to empower young innovators, strengthen the AI start-up ecosystem and transform bold and scalable ideas into technology-driven solutions to realize the vision of Viksit Bharat.
The mega initiative brought together global entrepreneurs, policymakers, AI leaders, corporates, academia, researchers, startups, and student innovators in a powerful convergence of technology, talent, and transformative ideas. Aligned with the India AI Mission, Chandigarh University became the first university in the country to launch the CU AI Mission, a comprehensive institutional roadmap focused on advancing research and development in Artificial Intelligence, promoting AI-led entrepreneurship and imparting AI literacy across academic disciplines. Chandigarh University launched the Bose-Einstein Quantum Centre of Excellence with QpiAI, QKrishi and CSIR-National Physical Laboratory under the National Quantum Mission to drive quantum research, training and startup incubation. With this, Chandigarh University has become first private university in India to set-up Quantum Center of Excellence, which will serve as National Quantum Cryogenic Testing Facility, for leadership in education, research and entrepreneurship.
On launch of the state-of-the-art facility, Deep Inder Singh Sandhu, Senior Managing Director, Chandigarh University said, “To advance cutting-edge quantum research, strengthen specialized training and accelerate startup incubation in emerging technologies, the Bose-Einstein Quantum Centre of Excellence has been launched by Chandigarh University in collaboration with quantum startups QpiAI (Qpid Force) and QKrishi along with CSIR-NPL (National Physical Laboratory) for training, research and incubation of startups with certificate courses for students and budding entrepreneurs under the National Quantum Mission. With dedicated certificate programmes, advanced research initiatives and incubation support for students and budding entrepreneurs, the Centre aims to build a robust quantum innovation ecosystem and position the university as a national leader in quantum education, research and entrepreneurship, making it the first private university in India to establish a comprehensive Quantum Centre of Excellence.”
A high-level panel on Technical Frontiers under the theme Emerging Technologies examined the transformative role of quantum computing, advanced research and next-generation technologies in shaping the future of industry and innovation. The panel featured Prof (Dr) Venu Gopal Achanta, Director of CSIR-National Physical Laboratory, Government of India, who spoke on India’s expanding capabilities in quantum science and precision technologies and L Vekata Subramanium, IBM Quantum India Lead and IBM Master Inventor at IBM, who shared insights on the growing quantum ecosystem, enterprise adoption and the future impact of quantum computing. Moderated by Nivedan Rathi, Founder of Future & AI, the discussion highlighted the importance of academia–industry collaboration, research-driven innovation and deep-tech talent development to position India at the forefront of emerging technologies.
The grand finale of Campus Tank, India’s first university-led start-up launchpad which was introduced in August 2025 will take place on February 21.

Chandigarh, India: Chandigarh University continues to scale new heights in global research engagement as 18 students from the University’s Astronomy Club have been officially recognised as NASA Citizen Scientists after successfully participating in the International Asteroid Search Campaign (IASC) — a global citizen-science initiative partnered with NASA.
The campaign, conducted from October 15 to November 10, 2025, involved students analysing real telescope image datasets to identify near-Earth objects and Main Belt asteroids using professional astronomical tools and research methodologies.
Global Scientific Contribution by CU Students
A total of 26 students from Chandigarh University participated, organised into three research teams under the guidance of the University’s Astronomy Club.
Out of these, two teams comprising 18 students received official recognition and certificates, thereby earning the prestigious designation of NASA Citizen Scientists.
During the campaign, students worked with telescope datasets provided through the IASC portal and used Astrometrica software to analyse astronomical images through blink comparison techniques. Their findings were compiled into Minor Planet Center (MPC) report formats and submitted for validation as part of global asteroid monitoring efforts.

Mohali: To empower young innovators, ignite creativity, and translate bold ideas into technology-driven, real-world solutions, Chandigarh University launched India’s first ‘AI Fest -2026’, a three-day mega innovation initiative featuring three flagship events -- ‘CU InnovFest 2026’, ‘Campus Tank’ and ‘Sandbox’ on the sidelines of the ‘India AI Impact Summit 2026’ in New Delhi from February 19 to 21.

The unveiling of the AI Fest was done in the presence of Umar Ali Shaikh, Chief Executive Officer, Atos Solutions & Systems Pvt Ltd and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Chancellor Chandigarh University Satnam Singh Sandhu among other dignitaries. This AI Fest will feature over 35 competitions across three categories, bringing together more than 1,000 national and international teams from across the country to showcase their creativity, technical expertise and problem-solving capabilities. With a total prize pool exceeding Rs 1 crore, winning teams will be honoured with cash awards along with certificates of excellence.
The fest will also provide participants with the opportunity to earn globally recognized certifications from SAS - the world’s leading analytics and data science software company, with certification benefits valued at over Rs 1 crore.
The AI Fest would feature a National Finale of ‘Campus Tank’ launched by Chandigarh University in collaboration with Apna – an Indian Unicorn and leading professional job networking platform and Venture Catalysts – India’s top incubator for startups – as India’s first university-led start-up launchpad in August 2025 with an opportunity to earn access to a funding pool of $6 Million. A total of 1055 start-up applications were received for Campus Tank of which 331 startups have been shortlisted to participate in the on-campus rounds. The finale on 21st February would feature a final pitch competition amongst the top 10 teams.
The AI Fest 2026 would also feature Sandbox, organized by Chandigarh University’s Technology Business Incubator (CU TBI) which is an open innovation platform inviting participation from students, professionals, startups and independent innovators. During the AI Fest 2026, the young innovators would showcase their new products and ideas. CU-TBI would felicitate the final 10 shortlisted teams to formalize a Deep-Tech and AI based Cohort.

In a grand global celebration of art, multiculturalism, and timeless traditions, Chandigarh University, in association with Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and Ministry of External Affairs, organized the India International Dance and Music Festival 2026 – One World, Many Cultures, in which more than 350 international artists from 33 countries delivered mesmerizing artistic performances on the opening day of the two-day festival.
Renowned as the house of students from all 28 states, 8 Union Territories, and 68+ countries, Chandigarh University has been hosting this mega event in collaboration with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), which promotes India’s global cultural engagement through exchanges, festivals, scholarships for foreign students, and showcases Indian arts while welcoming international cultural delegations.
Dressed in colourful traditional attire, the troupes of artists showcased the beauty of the indigenous music and dance cultures of their respective countries. During the India International Dance and Music Festival 2026, spectacular performances were given by troupes of artists from Kazakhstan & LGMF group (74 members), Kyrgyzstan (15 members), Malaysia (17 members), Maldives (11 members), Lithuania (8 members), Uzbekistan (9 members), and Burkina Faso (9 members). Additionally, artists from Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sudan, Tanzania, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Lesotho, Myanmar, Yemen, Sri Lanka, Angola, Malawi, Cameroon, Syria, Zimbabwe, South Sudan, Congo, Thailand, Uganda, Mali, Namibia, Kenya, Somalia, Ghana, and Madagascar also dazzled the audience with their bewitching performances.
In the opening performance of the day, the 80-member Lakshminarayana Global Music Festival group, presented by Dr. L. Subramaniam and Kavita Krishnamurthy Subramaniam, took the center stage featuring Astana Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Choir of the Aktobe Regional Philharmonic, and Dance Ensemble 'Gakku' from Kazakhstan. The 'Gakku' group, renowned for their fast-paced performances and traditional ballet style, showcased the history of Kazakhstan, the bravery of their horsemen, and the beauty of their vast open landscapes through their dance.
Furthermore, the audience was completely captivated by the 15-member Folklore Ensemble 'Aalam' and Dance Group 'Ademi' from the Osh Regional Philharmonic, Kyrgyz Republic. The word 'Aalam' means 'World' or 'Universe' in the 'Kyrgyz' language. It symbolizes the ensemble's mission to represent the rich heritage and traditions of Kyrgyzstan on the global stage. This performance was inspired by Indian devotional traditions, celebrating timeless love and devotion associated with Lord Krishna and Radha. The name itself conveys surrender, devotion, and harmony, reflecting the ensemble's mission to connect cultures through music and dance.
Along with graceful choreography and emotive expressions, the team not only highlighted the universality of Indian art forms but also bridged the gap between Indian and Malaysian cultural narratives. Furthermore, artists from other countries, including the Maldives, Lithuania, Uzbekistan, and Burkina Faso, also delivered mesmerizing dance and music performances representing their respective cultures.

Mohali – Union Minister of Power, Housing and Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal Khattar, launched ‘Campus Tank Punjab’ , organised by Chandigarh University in collaboration with India's largest early talent hiring platform Apna and India’s leading early-stage investment firm Venture Catalysts (VCats), to strengthen India’s startup ecosystem by providing a one-stop solution for young innovators below 30 years of age to get seed funding and investment for their startups with a dedicated funding pool of US$ 6 million for transforming their Startup ideas into high-impact ventures.
The launch ceremony of Campus Tank Punjab was attended by Manohar Lal Khattar, Union Minister of Power, Housing and Urban Affairs, as the Chief Guest along with other dignitaries including Satnam Singh Sandhu, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Chancellor of Chandigarh University, Deepinder Singh Sandhu, Senior Managing Director, Chandigarh University, Dr Preet Deep Singh, Vice President, Apna, Vansh Oberoi, Chief Investment Officer, Venture Catalysts and Deepinder Dhillon, Joint Director, Startups, Punjab. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Union Minister Khattar said,”Campus Tank is a big achievement not just in India but also in the world because youngsters face problems in starting their business ventures due to lack of support. “But today times have changed because our Prime Minister Narendra Modi understood this problem every youngster goes through after completing studies and given push to entrepreneurship with the launch of schemes like Mudra scheme. Today many facilities are available for youngsters (to start their ventures). Still some youngsters don’t get the required opportunities. In this context, Campus Tank is a very big initiative as it will benefit students of 23,000 eduactional institutions affiliated to AICTE. Over 19000 student startups have already registered for getting benefit of the Campus Tank. US$ 6 million funding will be available for 300 startups which will be shortlisted through Campus Tank,” he said.
“New ideas can come to anyone. Newton discovered the law of gravity sitting below an apple tree. Sky is the limit for startups because anyone, with minimum education, can build a startup from anywhere be it a village of small town. Youngsters can make millions of money by doing simple things through startups. You just need talent to move ahead in this competitive world. Biggest of global companies were once a startup. Be it Amazon started by a youngster from a car garage, Google started from a room, Facebook started from a university campus. So small beginnings lead to big achievements,” Khattar said.
The Union Minister further said, “Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done so much work in the past 11 years and today there are over 1.76 lakh startups out of which about 75,000 are women-led startups. Today we have over 115 Unicorns. Startups will not just give employment to their founders but also to thousands of others. Today’s job seekers will be tomorrow’s job creators. Your success will help in the progress of the nation. PM Modi has given us the vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047 by competing in the world and everybody has a role to play in realising this vision,”.
“Every nation always faces some challenges, like we have been threatened with the imposition of tariffs (by the US). We should not bow before this threat. If we work for our nation, it will progress. Such an atmosphere has been created in the past 10 years that nobody can stop India from progressing ahead. Our nation will become a $5 trillion economy in the next two years to become third biggest economy in the world. At present we are fourth biggest economy behind China, America and Germany. At present there is little gap between India and Germany. We have an economy of $ 4.19 trillion as compared to $ 4.52 trillion economy of Germany. But our growth rate is much higher than Germany. So even as we are facing US tariffs, our economy is still growing at a rate of 7.8 %. At this rate, we will match Germany’s economy within a year and beat them by next year by achieving an economy of $5 lakh trillion. This is our resolve and we will fulfill it with you (youngsters),” he added.
In his address, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Chancellor of Chandigarh University, Satnam Singh Sandhu said, “PM Modi ji had this vision that to make the country a developed nation and launched initiatives like Startup India. Through such programs, he not only understood the dreams of the youth but also provided funding to fulfill those dreams. Today the result is in front of all of us as India has become a startup hub. In 2014, there were only 400 startups in India and when Modi became the Prime Minister, the number of startups increased to over 1.76 lakh in just 11 years. India today is the 3rd largest startup ecosystem in the world with consistent growth. These Startups have not only registered over 12,000 patents but also created an estimated 17.6 lakh direct jobs in various sectors as of June 2025, a figure that has significantly increased from just a few hundred in 2014,” he said.
Sandhu further said, “India today has 119 unicorns including Paytm, upGrad, CRED who have created new job opportunities. Therefore, the government is focusing on increasing the number of unicorns in India, which will create the next generation of jobs, to 1,000 by 2035 and then take it further to 5,000. Startups have the potential to become global companies in future top MNCs like Google, Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, Meta (Facebook), Tesla and Uber which were also starups at some point of time,”.
“For this, the government is taking the required initiatives that prioritise technological advancement, ease of doing business and entrepreneurs. The government has arranged funds for startups with a budget of Rs 10 thousand crore and made a net commitment of Rs 9,994 crore h to 141 Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) supported under the Fund of Funds for Startups (FFS) scheme till June 2025. Now the aim is to make the nation self-reliant when it comes to technology, be it cybersecurity, AI and operating systems to defense tech, Deeptech or pharmaceuticals. India’s startup ecosystem will have to play a key role to attain this PM’s goal of tech autonomy for India. The government is supporting the startups in every possible way and reducing the compliance burden for startups and MSMEs, with the formation of a task force to bring in next-generation reforms,” he added.
The Rajya Sabha Member Sandhu further said, “Through initiatives like Campus Tank, our aim is to play a role in nurturing this growth and empowering the next generation of innovators. I am sure Campus Tank will act as a catalytic force for igniting the entrepreneurial spirit among young innovators in the country. Chandigarh University is playing its part in this by encouraging students for innovating new technologies and unlocking opportunities for growth. Ever since its inception in 2012, CU students have created over 150 Start-Ups. Chandigarh University’s Technology Business Incubator (CU-TBI), which secured number 1 rank among all scientific research and development organizations in India by filing highest 1126 patent applications in 2023-24, is mobilising Rs 5 Crore to catalyze growth in the startup ecosystem at CU. To empower young innovators with entrepreneurial skills and transform their ideas into real-world start-ups, Chandigarh University’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (CU-IEDC) in collaboration with its Technology Business Incubator (CU-TBI) organized ‘Zero-to-One’ – a nationwide 24-hour MVP Building Hackathon on Thursday to mark World Entrepreneurs’ Day. Attracting registrations from over 1,300 teams and 5,200 student innovators representing leading universities across 15 states, the event has positioned itself among the largest university-led hackathons in India, offering participants access to a $6 million prize pool and a direct entry to Campus Tank.
The ‘Zero-to-One’ hackathon is themed ‘an idea in the morning, a start-up by night’ served as a fast-paced innovation sprint, giving aspiring entrepreneurs a platform to transform their ideas into market-ready Minimum Viable Products (MVPs). Out of a total of 1300 teams, 100 teams were shortlisted who developed MVPs during the given 24-hour slot out of which top 10 teams were selected in the final round.
The top 3 winning startups got direct entry in the country’s first university-led start-up challenge Campus Tank granting direct access to the top 300 teams to compete for the $6 Million prize pool. Lazy Genius, a team of four students from Dr Akhilesh Das Gupta Institute of Professional Studies (ADGIPS) New Delhi which came first in the Startup Challenge for their HealthTech Startup, has developed a physiotherapy model which will remain easily available for users with back and neck pain issues. Zudos, a team of three Chandigarh University students who came second in the Startup Challenge, have developed a tech startup for the creation of an affordable smartboard which operates with a laser mouse. Invaders, a team of four students from St John College of Engineering & Management (SJCEM) in Maharashtra which came third, have developed a Fintech Startup which will help groups of people who can’t borrow money from bank to get loans on monthly basis by becoming part of a digital wallet. A special award of US$ 100 was also given by Github to Syntex Syndicate.
While CMD Tynor Orthotics India and Vice Chairman, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Pushvinder Jit Singh presided over the event as Guest of Honour, other prominent personalities from the world of entrepreneurship and start-ups who mentored participants in their prospective ventures during the hackathon include Mahavir Pratap Sharma, TIE India Angels, Mohit Dua Co-Founder, AI Sensy, Piyush Garg, Founder Techyst, Pratiksha Gupta, CEO, One Special Place, Piyush Sharma, Facilitator Google Cloud, Santosh Kumar Mishra, SDE Microsoft, Uday Sharma, CEO DevnDez, Simarpreet Singh, Developer Groups Google and Vikash Kumar Yadav, Campus Expert Github. The hackathon saw participation of aspiring founders from premier institutions including Amity University, GLA University, Thapar University, Lamrin Tech Skills University, MIT ADT University, Chitkara University, LPU, UPES, SRMIST, Delhi Technical Campus, IIIT Sonepat, VNIT, NIET, Geeta University, HPTU, GEC Gandhinagar and Chandigarh University among others. The participants came from states such as Gujarat, Maharashtra, Delhi NCR, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Punjab, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Jodhpur, Warangal, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Panipat, Gurgaon and Chandigarh among other cities.

In a major push toward making world-class education accessible and reducing student dropouts, Chandigarh University inaugurated the first edition of its CU Scholars’ Summit 2025 on Friday. The university felicitated 2,516 top achievers of its national-level admission-cum-scholarship entrance test, CUCET 2025, awarding them scholarships across 110 undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria inaugurated the three-day summit as the Chief Guest, in the presence of Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Chancellor of Chandigarh University, Satnam Singh Sandhu, and other dignitaries.
Among the awardees were 918 meritorious girl students from 20 states. The Governor praised the university’s scholarship initiative, calling it a critical tool in the mission to transform India into Viksit Bharat by 2047. “If India is to become a developed nation, the role of institutions like Chandigarh University will be pivotal,” he said.
Kataria commended the university for offering scholarships worth ₹210 crore annually and for curbing the dropout rate by providing financial support to talented students who may otherwise be unable to continue their education. “Chandigarh University has emerged as a beacon of academic excellence, attracting students from all 28 Indian states and 60 countries,” he added.
The Governor highlighted Chandigarh University’s contribution to reversing the brain drain, stating that students now prefer to pursue world-class education within India, thanks to the conducive academic ecosystem developed by CU. Drawing parallels with ancient centres of learning like Takshashila and Nalanda, he said CU is reviving India’s historic legacy of global academic leadership.
Kataria also lauded the university’s focus on research and innovation. “More than 4,300 patents have been filed by CU faculty and students, aligning with Prime Minister Modi’s vision of transforming India into a global innovation hub,” he said. He further credited initiatives like Start-up India and Digital India for fostering entrepreneurship among youth.
In his address, Chancellor Satnam Singh Sandhu emphasized Chandigarh University’s mission of identifying and supporting meritorious students through its expansive scholarship programs. “We believe in investing in talent—whether in academics, sports, research, or cultural fields. The students are the true drivers of our success as India’s number one private university,” he said.
The opening day of the summit also featured interactions with renowned motivational speakers, industry experts, and celebrities including IAS officer Sonal Goel, influencer Gaurav Taneja (Flying Beast), singer and actress Khushboo Grewal, actor Binnu Dhillon, singer G Khan, and actress Kanika Maan. In simple words, the World University Games are a platform for university athletes to compete internationally and celebrate their achievements. In addition, there is nothing wrong with saying that it is a significant sporting event held every two years, featuring a wide range of sports similar to the Olympic Games.
Furthermore, the German cities of Bochum, Duisburg, Essen, Mülheim an der Ruhr, Hagen, and Berlin will be hosting the 2025 FISU World University Games Summer. From July 16 to July 27, 2025, the 2025 edition of the World University Games will welcome over 8,500 student-athletes and officials from more than 150 countries. They will compete for medals in 18 different sports categories, making it one of the largest multi-sport events in the world in 2025.
On the contrary, the 2025 FISU World University Games Summer will feature 15 sports across various categories, including Archery, Artistic Gymnastics, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Diving, Fencing, Judo, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Swimming, Taekwondo, Tennis, Table Tennis, Volleyball, and Water Polo. However, the programme is complemented by the optional sports of 3×3 basketball, beach volleyball, and rowing. For the first time at the FISU Summer Games, 3×3 wheelchair basketball will be included in the programme.

1. 15% Fee Concession:
For war widows, wards of war casualties, war-injured and released Defence personnel, their spouses, and war-disabled Defence personnel (superannuated) and their families.
2. 10% Fee Concession:
For wards/spouses of serving and retired Defence personnel, and for paramilitary forces personnel.
3. 20% Fee Concession:
For serving Defence officers on study leave, with 1% of seats (minimum one per course) reserved for them.

● Shaheed Captain Vikram Batra Scholarship:
Special support for families of Kargil War heroes, including reserved seats, a 15% fee waiver for wards of Kargil martyrs, and a 10% waiver for wards of Defence personnel injured in the conflict. This scholarship is applicable for the entire course duration, with a total support of ₹25 lakh.
● Long-standing Support:
Over the past 12 years, CU has awarded scholarships worth over ₹5.70 crore to 5,723 wards of Defence personnel, reflecting its enduring commitment to the Armed Forces community.
● Holistic Development:
CU’s NCC Wing has trained and commissioned 43 students as officers in the Indian Armed Forces, underlining its role in nurturing leadership and patriotism.
● Renewal Criteria:
To continue receiving the scholarship, students must maintain academic performance without semester/year drops or failing grades in regular exams.

India’s No 1 Private University, Chandigarh University Cuts Ties with 23
Taking strong stand against Turkey and Azerbaijan over support for Pakistan during Operation Sindoor and and the subsequent escalation of conflict with India, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Chancellor of Chandigarh University, Satnam Singh Sandhu on Saturday said putting Nation first, Chandigarh University (CU) -- India’s number 1 private university – has severed its academic collaborations with 23 Turkish and Azerbaijani Universities.
Announcing this decision, Sandhu, said, “The vision of Chandigarh University has always remained aligned to the spirit of Nation First and in line with that vision, we have decided to terminate all our educational ties with Turkey and Azerbaijan. Nothing is more important to us when it comes to national security, and we won't compromise on anything when it comes to the integrity and sovereignty of India."
Sandhu added, "As has been clearly stated by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the perpetrators of terrorism and those helping them won't be spared at any cost, Chandigarh University stands united with the entire nation in the fight against terrorism and those sponsoring it. We cannot continue ties with nations which are responsible for taking lives of our innocent civilians and soldiers of Indian Armed Forces. I urge Indian students to not pursue their higher education at Turkish and Azerbaijani Universities. Instead prefer taking admission in India-friendly nations. We, as responsible citizens of the nation, must stand united and cut all kinds of ties or support to these nations who have acted directly or indirectly against our national interests,” he said.
Sandhu said under these 23 MoUs, Chandigarh University was having collaboration with the higher education institutions in Turkiye and Azerbaijan for exchange of students for regular courses, research, exchange of faculty and staff.
“But it is really unfortunate that Turkey and Azerbaijan, despite having received India’s goodwill, assistance, and strategic support during difficult times, have now aligned themselves with Pakistan which is known all over the world for its ties to terrorism. This stance not only undermines India’s sovereignty and national interests but also deeply offends the sentiments of 140 Crore Indians. So we (Chandigarh University) has decided to end our academic collaborations with the universities in Turkiye and Azerbaijan as nation comes first. We will not have alliance with those who support sponsor of terrorism Pakistan,” he added.
The Rajya Sabha MP Sandhu further said “At a time when our Armed forces are putting their lives on the line to protect the nation, we as an educational institution cannot stay silent. Chandigarh University has decided to terminate all agreements with countries that support Pakistan, a known sponsor of terrorism. In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s firm stance against terrorism, every institution must stand with the nation. We will never associate with any entity that undermines India's sovereignty and unity."
This Chandigarh University move comes after both Turkey and Azerbaijan openly showed support for Pakistan despite its support for cross-border terrorism against India and its aggression after the Indian Armed Forces struck nine terror infrastructure sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir in response to the Pahalgam terror attack.
While Azerbaijan, in its statement on India-Pakistan tensions, has echoed the Pakistani line. Turkey expressed its solidarity with Pakistan and supported Islamabad's proposal for an international investigation into the Pahalgam terror attack. Turkey has also supplied military weapons to Pakistan.
